Our football match prediction:
All eyes will be on CenturyLink Field when Seattle Sounders and Orlando City face each other in the MLS derby. The title holders aim to bounce back from a 2-1 loss to New York City and it remains to be seen if they are capable of recording their fourth consecutive win at home in the league. Seattle scored exactly one goal in each of their previous three home fixtures in MLS, but that proved to be enough for the reigning champions to pick up all nine points from those encounters. Orlando City, on the other hand, played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Montreal Impact at home, with Jonathan Spector saving one point for the Lions in the dying minutes of the match. Brazilian superstar Ricardo Kaka provided an assist for Perez Garcia in the first half of the game and the former Real Madrid midfielder will be the man to watch in the away side. A lively contest is on the cards, but seeing that Seattle have been producing fine performances at home of late, we predict that Clint Dempsey and Co. will emerge triumphant in Thursday’s football game.
Highlighted Player (Jordy Delem):
Jordy Delem is a Seattle Sounders midfielder who represents Martinique on the international stage. Delem played for the likes of Club Franciscain, Arles-Avignon and Club Franciscain before joining Seattle Sounders in 2016. After making 19 appearances for Seattle Sounders 2 the Martinique footballer signed a first team deal with the MLS club in March, 2017. It has to be noted that he played as a right back on his Seattle debut against Atlanta United (0-0). Jordy Delem represented Martinique at the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup, but he failed to impress in a 3-1 loss to Mexico. The 180-cm-tall player was born in Le Francois, Martinique and he has a contract with Seattle Sounders which expires in December, 2017. His main position is defensive midfield, but, as previously mentioned, he is capable of playing as a full back as well. Jordy Delem has both Martinique and France passports, but he decided to represent les Matinino on the international stage.
Highlighted Team (Orlando City):
Orlando City are a member of the Eastern Conference in Major League Soccer. The Lions have been participating in the major league since 2015 and they host their rivals at Orlando City Stadium. The venue was opened in February, 2017 and the construction of the stadium cost $155 million. Orlando City finished the 2015 MLS season in seventh place in the Eastern Conference and they failed to make it to the play-offs in the 2016 season as well (8th place). Brazilian ace Kaka is undisputedly the club’s most famous player and the former Real Madrid and Milan man became the highest-paid player in MLS history. His base salary was $6.6 million per year and it has to be noted that the Brazilian superstar found the net on his Orlando City debut against FC Dallas (friendly). Orlando City’s home kit is violet, while they wear white and violet shirts and white socks on the travels. The club’s official mascot is Kingston the Lion.
