Our football match prediction:
Seattle Sounders will be looking to build on a 4-0 win over Minnesota United when they face Sporting Kansas City at their CenturyLink Field. Brian Schmetzer’s troops did not kick off the new MLS campaign in great manner, but they seem to be on top of their game at the moment and it has to be noted that the title holders are eyeing their fourth consecutive clean sheet in the league. Seattle Sounders sit in fourth place in the Western Conference ahead of Saturday’s football match, but a win over Sporting could see them climb to top position in the standings. The Wizards played out a 1-1 draw with Atlanta United at the weekend, with the team extending their unbeaten run in the league to nine games, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry against Seattle Sounders. Clint Dempsey scored a brace against Minnesota and he will be the man to watch in the home team.
Highligted Player (Jordy Delem):
Jordy Delem is a Seattle Sounders midfielder who represents Martinique on the international stage. Delem played for the likes of Club Franciscain, Arles-Avignon and Club Franciscain before joining Seattle Sounders in 2016. After making 19 appearances for Seattle Sounders 2 the Martinique footballer signed a first team deal with the MLS club in March, 2017. It has to be noted that he played as a right back on his Seattle debut against Atlanta United (0-0). Jordy Delem represented Martinique at the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup, but he failed to impress in a 3-1 loss to Mexico. The 180-cm-tall player was born in Le Francois, Martinique and he has a contract with Seattle Sounders which expires in December, 2017. His main position is defensive midfield, but, as previously mentioned, he is capable of playing as a full back as well. Jordy Delem has both Martinique and France passports, but he decided to represent les Matinino on the international stage.
Highlighted Team (Sporting Kansas City):
Sporting Kansas City have been competing in Major League Soccer since 1996 and they won their first MLS Cup trophy in 2000. The club faced Chicago Fire at Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium in Washington in the play-offs final and Miklos Jon Molnar scored the winner for Bob Gansler’s team. 13 years later Sporting Kansas City met with Solt Lake in the title game and they were fortunate to defeat the Royals on penalties. The Wizards welcome their rivals at Children’s Mercy Park, but they used to play some games at Blue Valley Sports Complex, Julian Field, Hermann Stadium and Durwood Soccer Stadium in the past as well. Sporting Kansas City were founded in 1995 and the club’s original name was Kansas City Wiz. The Wizards wear navy blue shirts and dark blue shorts when playing at home, while the colour of their away kit is blue. Former Wigan Athletic man Roger Espinosa is regarded as one of the club’s most notable players and he has been playing for the Children’s Mercy Park outfit since 2015.
