Our football match prediction:
All eyes will be on BC Place Stadium when Vancouver Whitecaps and New York Red Bulls face each other in MLS on Sunday. Vancouver aim to build on a 2-1 win over Portland Timbers, while New York are eager extend their winning run in the league to three games. Both sides are likely to adopt an attack-minded approach in Sunday’s football match, but we believe that the Whitecaps, who have been scoring goals for fun at home this term, are going to give fans a reason for celebration. A man to watch in the home team will be Kaiansu Kamara, who scored his 10th goal of the season at the weekend. Speaking of the away team, Vancouver defenders should have Bradley Wright-Phillips at bay as he has already scored in no less than 15 goals in the 2018 MLS season.
Highlighted Player (Kendall Waston):
Kendall Waston is yet another Costa Rican footballer who plays in MLS. The Vancouver Whitecaps centre back started his senior career at Sarprissa of Costa Rica and he played for the likes of Carmelita, Nacional, Bayamon, UCR and Perez Zeledon (on loan) in the past as well. Waston moved to MLS in the summer of 2014, signing a deal with Vancouver Whitecaps. The Costa Rica international scored only two goals in 11 appearances for the club in the 2014 season, but the club chiefs decided to keep hold of him. He found the net twice in 30 league games in the 2015 MLS campaign, while scoring three goals in his last season with the Canadian club. Kendall Waston was born in San Jose, Costa Rica on January 1, 1988 and he made his debut for the Costa Rica national team in May, 2013 in a match against Canada. The Vancouver Whitecaps forward scored his first goal for los Ticos on December 16, 2015 in a 1-0 victory over Nicaragua.
Highlighted Team (New York Red Bulls):
New York Red Bulls are the first club from New York City to join Major League Soccer. In 2006 the club was sold to Red Bull GmbH and, as a result, they are nicknamed the Red Bulls. New York welcome their rivals at Red Bull Arena and the team’s home colours are white and red. On the other hand, the Red Bulls wear dark blue shirts and yellow shorts on the road. In 2008 New York Red Bulls made it to the MLS Cup final, but they were not capable of matching Columbus Crew (1-3) in the Home Depot Center clash. A number of top-class footballers were part of the team in the past, but former Arsenal forward Thierry Henry is the synonym of the club. Henry scored 51 goals in 122 league games for New York Red Bulls from 2010 to 2014 and it has to be noted that he scored his first MLS hat-trick in a 5-2 victory over Montreal Impact on March 31, 2012. The likes of Youri Djorkaeff, Lothar Matthaus, Roberto Donadoni, Rafael Marquez, Juninho and Tim Cahill played for the club in the past as well.
