Our match prediction:
Paraguay surprised everyone with the strong start to the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, as they climbed to fourth by taking eight points from first five fixtures. Without any star names in the squad, La Albirroja defeated minnows Venezuela and Bolivia, while holding Argentina and Ec-uador to 0-0 and 2-2 draws respectively, with 1-0 loss to Peru their only setback so far. Para-guay rode their luck in weekend’s clash with Ecuador as they scored two goals from mere four shots at goal as opposed to Ecuador’s 24, and this is enough to suggest they are not in the best shape at the moment. At the same time, this is probably not the best time to be facing star-studded Brazil, as they are eager to make amends for the 2-2 draw with Uruguay and further improve their position in the standings. The likes of Neymar, Willian and Douglas Costa are like-ly to prove too much for Paraguay defenders, so we are predicting a narrow away win here.
Highligted Player (Marcelo):
Marcelo is a Brazilian football player who has always been compared with Robero Carlos. The pacey full back has a very powerful shoot and he often makes life difficult for opposition defenders. Marcelo was born in Rio de Janeiro on 12 May, 1988 and he played for Fluminense during his youth career. He made 30 league appearances for Flu and in 2007 he joined Real Madrid. The Brazilian ace made his Real Madrid debut against Deportivo La Coruna on 7 January, 2007, coming as a substitute in the second half of the match. He made his first start in a 2-1 loss to Racing de Santander. Marcelo won two Champions League trophies with los Blancos (2013/2014, 2015/2016), while clinching three La Liga titles (2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2011/2012). The Real Madrid full back represented Brazil at the 2008 Summer Olympics and he won the bronze medal with the Selecao.
