Our prediction for this Portugal Primeira Liga match:
Desportivo Aves will be aiming to make amends for a 2-0 loss to Sporting CP when they face Belenenses at Estadio Clube Desportivo das Aves on Matchday 25. Nuno Manta Santos’ troops are stuck at the bottom of the table, with the team having very slim chances of securing the Primeira Liga survival. Considering that both Macedo and Fernando are sidelined through suspension, we do not believe that punters can find value in betting on the rock-bottom side.
Belenenses, on the other hand, are undefeated in the previous four league fixtures, and they are likely to rely on their rock-solid defence against Aves. O Belem are eyeing their fourth consecutive clean sheet in the national championship, and given the atmosphere in the home side’s dressing room, away win should definitely be considered. In the first half of the season Belenenses defeated Desportivo Aves 3-2, but a low-scoring affair is on the cards this time out.
Highlighted Player (Mahmoud Kahraba):
Mahmoud Kahraba is an Egyptian footballer who plays for the Primeira Liga club, Aves. Born in Cairo, Egypt, on April 13, 1994, Kahraba is a product of the Al Ahly football school. He continued his development at ENPPI, where he was given a chance to taste first-team football.
After scoring eight goals in 35 appearances for the Egyptian club, Kahraba moved to Zamalek in 2015. It has to be noted that he played for Swiss clubs Luzern and Grasshopper on loan as well before signing a contract with the Royal Club. In July 2016, the Egypt international signed a loan deal with Al-Ittihad.
After scoring 20 goals in 44 appearances for the club, Kahraba joined Portuguese outfit Aves in 2019. The pacey winger made his Primeira Liga debut on August 23, 2019, in a 5-1 loss to Rio Ave, and he scores his first goal in the Portuguese top flight in a 3-2 defeat to Famalicao a week later.
Highlighted Team (Belenenses):
Founded on September 23, 1919, Belenenses are a Portuguese club that host their rivals at Estado do Restelo. The stadium can hold up to 19,856 spectators and it was built in 1956. O Belem play home games in blue shirts and white shorts and white is the dominant colour of their away kit.
By beating the likes of IFK Goteborg and Rheindorf Altach Belenenses booked their place in the Europa League group stages in the 2015/2016 season. Despite defeating Swiss side Basel in their group, the Portuguese club eventually finished the process in the last position in the standings.
The Estado do Restelo outfit did well to win the Primeira Liga trophy in the 1945/1946 season, with the team finishing the season only one point clear of second-placed Benfica. Speaking of the Portuguese Cup, Belenenses clinched their third Taca de Portugal trophy in the 1988/1989 season. Vitor Godinho is the player with most appearances for the club (272).
