Our prediction for this Portugal Primeira Liga match:
Estadio de Sao Miguel will host Sunday’s football match between Santa Clara and Maritimo, who face each other at the start of the new Primeira Liga season. Os Acoreanos did well to secure a top-ten finish last season, and, no doubt, they will try to book their place in European competitions in the 2020/21 campaign. The club chiefs did well to sign several talented footballers in the summer transfer window, but it has to be noted that pacey left-back Zaidu Sanusi is no longer part of the team as he joined Porto for a fee of €4.00m.
Maritimo, on the other hand, produced a couple of brilliant displays in the last season finale, with the team beating title-chasing Benfica 2-0. The club owners did well to keep hold of pacey full-back Nanu, who will be the man to watch in the away team. Santa Clara and Maritimo seem to be evenly matched ahead of the season opener; therefore, share of spoils is on the cards.
