Our prediction for this Portugal Primeira Liga match:
After eliminating Fabril do Barreiro in the Taca de Portugal opener, Porto will be looking to melt Sporting’s advantage in the Primeira Liga standings when they take on Santa Clara on Matchday 8. The Dragons are on a quest to defend the domestic trophy, but they have already dropped too many points in the new Primeira Liga campaign. Mbaye remains in the recovery room for the visitors, while Marcano and Pepe could recover in time to face Santa Clara.
Os Acoreanos aim to bounce back from a 2-0 loss to Tondela, and given their anything but good form in the national championship, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the defending champions. Santa Clara defeated Beira Mar in the Portuguese Cup at the weekend, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry against the reigning champions.

Highlighted Player (Fabio Cardoso):

Fabio Cardoso is a Portuguese defender who was born in Agueda (Portugal) on April 19, 1994. Cardoso started his youth career at his hometown club Agueda, but in 2008 he continued his development at Benfica. After scoring three goals in 55 appearances for Benfica B, he spent the 2015/2016 season on loan at Pacos Ferreira.
In the summer of 2017, he signed a four-year deal with Vitoria Setubal, but he spent only one season at Estadio do Bonfim. Cardoso joined Scottish club Glasgow Rangers in June 2017, signing a three-year contract with the club for a fee of around £1.3 million.
The Portuguese defender, though, made no more than 12 appearances for the Gers, joining Santa Clara in the summer of 2018. Fabio Cardoso has four caps with the Portugal U20 team, but he has yet to earn a call-up for the senior team. His primary position is a centre-back, but he is often used as a left-back. His preferred foot is right.
Highlighted Team (Porto):

Futebol Clube do Porto are one of Portugal’s biggest football clubs playing their matches in front of 50,000 people at their Estadio do Dragao. Porto form biggest rivalries with two other Big Three clubs in Portugal and regular league title contenders – Benfica and Sporting CP. Rivalries between the clubs stem from the historical, political, economical and cultural discrepancies between the cities of Porto and Lisbon. The Dragons, as they are commonly known in Portugal, are the second most successful Portuguese team with a total of 74 trophies to their name.
Porto hold a record of five consecutive league titles which are part of the total tally of 27 Primeira Liga trophies. FC Porto’s success extends to the international scene as well with seven European titles. Two-time European champions from 1987 and 2004, Porto also won two UEFA Cup/Europa League titles, the UEFA Super Cup and the International Cup on two occasions. Together with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United, Porto have the most appearances in the UEFA Champions League group stage – the total of 20.
