Our football match prediction:
Burnley play host to Newcastle United at their Turf Moor on day 10 of the new Premier League campaign. The Clarets aim to bounce back from a 3-0 loss to Manchester City and it remains to be seen if key attacker Chris Wood is going to recover in time to face the Magpies. Burnley are a real force to be reckoned with at home and it has to be noted that they are undefeated in previous three home games in the national championship. Sean Dyche’s men are eager to stay in the top half of the Premier League standings, but they would not be too disappointed with one point from Monday’s football match against Newcastle United. Rafa Benitez’s charges recorded a hard-fought win (1-0) over Crystal Palace at the weekend, with Mikel Merino scoring a late winner for the Magpies, but seeing that the St. James’ Park outfit often struggle on the travels, we predict that the two teams will share the spoils at Turf Moor.
Highlighted Player (Anders Lindegaard):
Anders Lindegaard is a Danish goalkeeper who plays for Preston North End. Lindegaard was born in Odense on 13 April, 1984 and he began his youth career in his home-town club Odense. In 2009 he joined Norwegian outfit Aalesund, where he was spotted by Manchester United scouts. Anders Lindegaard signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Red Devils on 27 November, 2010 and it has to be noted that he made 19 league appearances for the Old Trafford outfit. In 2015 he moved to West Bromwich Albion, but he did not make his WBA debut in the Premier League. After making 16 appearances for Preston in the 2015/2016 season, he signed a permanent deal with the Lilywhites on 2 July, 2016. Lindegaard made his Denmark debut on 7 September, 2010 in a Euro 2012 qualifier against Iceland. He did well to keep a clean sheet on his debut as Denmark defeat the Icelanders 1-0. In 2010 he was namer Danis Goalkeeper of the Year, but winning of the Premier League trophy (2012/2013) with Manchester United is considered his biggest success. He won the FA Community Shield with the Red Devils on two occasions (2011, 2013).
Highlighted Team (Newcastle United):
Newcastle United failed to impress in the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign and, as a result, they dropped to the English second tier. The Magpies will host their rivals at their St. James’ Park in the 2016/2017 Championship campaign and it has to be noted that the capacity of the stadium is 52,354. Newcastle United have won four domestic trophies (1904/1905, 1906/1907, 1908/1909, 1926/1927), while lifting six FA Cup titles (1910, 1924, 1932, 1951, 1952, 1955) and a number of star players were part of the St. James’ Park outfit in the past. David Ginola, Michael Owen, Alan Shearer, Les Ferdinand, Nolberto Solano, Gary Speed, Obafemi Martins and Kevin Nolan are notable footballers who are still remembered at the club. Newcastle’s fiercest rivals are Sunderland and there have always been fireworks when the two local rivals face each other in the Tyne-Wear derby. The colour of Newcastle’s home kit is black and white.
