Our match prediction:
Despite taking an early lead in Sunday’s game against Swansea City, Chelsea eventually played out a 2-2 draw with the South Wales outfit at the Liberty Stadium. Diego Costa scored a brace for the Blues and, no doubt, the Brazilian-born attacker is going to pose a big threat for Liverpool defenders in Friday’s football match. Chelsea have been producing fine displays under Antonio Conte, but beating Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, who head into the game following a 4-1 win over Leicester City, is easier said than done. The Reds impressed in the triumph over the reigning champions and we predict that they are going to find the net in the Stamford Bridge showdown. The Blues are eager to return to winning ways and seeing that they are a real force to be reckoned with at home, we believe that Antonio Conte’s men will score in Friday’s clash as well.
Highligted Player (Diego Costa):
Diego Costa is a Brazilian-born attacker who plays for Spain. “The Tasmanian devil” decided to switch his allegiance to the Spain national team, but he did not make Spain Euro 2016 squad. The controversial forward is well known for his bad-tempered affairs and he is considered one of the most disliked men in the world of football. Diego Costa began his senior career at Braga and he used to play for the likes of Penafiel, Celta Vigo, Albacete, Real Valladolid, Rayo Vallecano and Atletico Madrid in the past as well. Costa currently plays for Chelsea and he impressed in the 2014/2015 Premier League campaign with the Stamford Bridge outfit, scoring 20 goals in the English top flight. However, he was struggling to find his best form in the 2015/2016 campaign and it is no surprise he netted just 12 goals for Chelsea in the national championship. Diego Costa won Spanish La Liga with Atletico Madrid in 2014 and he participated in the Champions League final against Real Madrid the same season. On the other hand, he clinched the Premier League trophy with Chelsea in 2015.
Highlighted Team (Liverpool):
Founded back in 1982, Liverpool are one of England’s and world’s most famous clubs. The Reds hold a high-profile rivalry with Everton and there have always been fireworks when the two teams take on each other in the Merseyside derby. The Reds welcome their opponents at Anfield and it has to be noted that they have already won 18 first division trophies. Liverpool were on the verge of lifting the 2014/2015 Premier League trophy, but Steven Gerrard slipped in the decider against Chelsea and left the Reds without a title. Liverpool won their last Champions League trophy in 2005, with the team coming from three goals behind to beat Milan in a historic clash in Istanbul. The Reds have clinched five European Cups and it is no surprise they are regarded as one of the greatest European clubs. The likes of Steven Gerrard, Robbie Fowler, Paul Ince, Ian Rush, Graeme Souness, Sami Hyypia and Luis Suarez are some of the most notable footballers to have represented the club over the years. The club’s anthem is You’ll Never Walk Alone and their shirt colour is red.
