Our football match prediction:
Nobody knows what has happened to the team that largely impressed in the opening exchanges as the disappointing run of results has forced manager Alan Pardew to admit that his side were not in relegation dogfight. The Eagles came close to ending an eleven-match winless run (D4 L7) as they had a 2-1 lead at the Stadium of Light, but a late goal by Fabio Borini denied them a much needed victory. And with high-flying Liverpool their next opponents, the hosts will probably have to wait some more before they can return to winning ways. The Reds may have failed to lift the Capital One Cup trophy by losing on penalties, but they made sure to get perfect revenge on Manchester City with an outstanding 3-0 triumph in midweek. The game served as yet another proof that Jurgen Klopp and his side were on the right track and we don’t see how out-of-sorts Palace are going to stop them from winning.
