Our match prediction:
Saturday’s match at Selhurst Park sees Crystal Palace face West Bromwich Albion in the opening match of the 2016/2017 Premier League campaign. The Baggies finished the last season in 14th place in the standings, just one point clear of the Eagles, meaning that we should see a close encounter in London. Pacey winger Andros Townsend joined the capital club in the summer transfer window and all eyes will be on him when the two teams face each other in Saturday’s football match. Tony Pulis is still in charge of WBA and given that he is widely expected to stick to his defensive style of play, there is every chance we will see a low-scoring affair at Selhurst Park. The two teams seem to be evenly matched at the moment, meaning that share of spoils appears on the horizon. A man to watch in the away team will be Venezuela international Salomon Rondon.
Highligted Player (Townsend):
Andros Townsend is an English footballer who plays for Crystal Palace. He started his professional career at Tottenham Hotspur (2009), but he played for a number of English clubs on loan in the past (Yeovil Town, Leyton Orient, MK Dons, Ipswich Town, Watford, Millwall, Leeds United, Birmingham City, Queens Park Rangers). On 26 January, 2016, Townsend signed a deal with Newcastle United for a fee of £12 million. However, following Newcastle’s relegation to the Championship at the end of the 2015/2016 campaign, Andros joined Crystal Palace on a five-year contract as the Eagles decided to match his £13 million release clause. Andros Townsend plays as a winger and he made his England debut on 11 October, 2013. Back then England recorded a 4-1 win over Montenegro in the World Cup qualifiers. The Crystal Palace footballer was born in Leytonstone on 16 July, 1991 and he attended Rush Croft Sports College. Andros Townsend is a Tottenham Hotspur fan, but he couldn’t quite realise his potential while at White Hart Lane
