Our match prediction:
Just three days after Manchester City pipped Liverpool to the Capital One Cup title after penalties, the two sides will meet again, this time in a Premier League clash at Anfield. There are no doubts that the Reds will be eager to get revenge on the Citizens for having been denied the best opportunity to lift a major title this season, while they will also want to improve their European hopes having slipped to ninth at the weekend. Manchester City dominated the League Cup encounter from start to finish, but should have probably secured the victory long before extra time, and they have no choice but to win at Anfield if they want to remain in the title hunt. With several important players now back to the side, manager Manuel Pellegrini will finally be able to rotate his squad, unlike Jurgen Klopp, who doesn’t have too many quality options at the moment, and that could prove to be the difference on Wedesnday evening.
