Our football match prediction:
Liverpool desperately needed a win against West Ham United at the weekend and they won the game in style. The Reds rolled over Slaven Bilic’s team at London Stadium, with Philippe Coutinho scoring a brace for Jurgen Klopp’s team. Liverpool sit in third place in the Premier League standings ahead of the last day of the season and a win over Middlesbrough in Sunday’s football game would see them book their place in the Champions League. The Reds failed to win previous three home fixtures in the national championship, but seeing that Boro will be competing in the Championship next season, we predict that Jurgen Klopp’s men will pick up all three points from Sunday’s match. When the two sides met at Riverside Stadium earlier this season Liverpool recorded a 3-0 win over Middlesbrough and, taking everything into account, home win appears on the horizon in this one.
Highlighted Player (Simon Mignolet):
Simon Luc Hildebert Mignolet is a Belgium goalkeeper born on 6 March 1988 in Sint-Truiden. He began his career in a club from his hometown, making 100 league appearances for Sint-Truidense before moving to Sunderland in 2010. Mignolet would go on to spent next four years at the Stadium of Light, making 90 Premier League appearances. As one of world’s most talented goalkeepers, the Belgium international signed for Liverpool in the summer of 2013, and he has since been the club’s first choice goalkeeper. Performing admirably most of the time, but also committing cheap mistakes at times, Mignolet has yet to win over the Liverpool fans, but remains highly regarded in his native country. The talented shot-stopper has been a member of the Belgium national team since 2011, earning over 20 caps for the Red Devils, but he has been playing second fiddle to Chelsea star Thibaut Courtois over the last few years.
Highlighted Team (Middlesbrough):
Middlesbrough are a professional football club that have been balancing between the top two divisions of England’s league system in the modern history. Boro have been playing their home games at the Riverside Stadium since 1995 and their shirt colour is red. The capacity of the Riverside Stadium is 34,742. Middlesbrough impressed in the 2015/2016 Championship campaign and they did really well to secure promotion to the English top flight. Newcastle United and Sunderland are regarded as the club’s main rivals, but there is a rivalry with Leeds United as well. Middlesbrough made it to the FA Cup final in 1997, but Chelsea proved to be a big catch for the Boro in the title game (0-2). However, the Riverside Stadium outfit did remarkably well to win the League Cup trophy in 2004, with the team beating Bolton Wanderers in the final. George Boateng, Stewart Downing, Juninho Paulista, Gareth Southgate, Jonathan Woodgate, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, Tuncay Sanli and Hamilton Ricard are the star footballers who left their mark at Middlesbrough.
