Our football match prediction:
All eyes will be on Old Trafford when Manchester United and Liverpool face each other in the Premier League derby. The Red Devils mad a slow start to the season, but they have been in a splendid form of late and Jose Mourinho’s men are eyeing their eighth consecutive win in all competitions. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been scoring goals for fun this season and the opposition defenders are likely to have their work cut out for them when facing the former PSG man. Liverpool, on the other hand, aim to stay in the race for the title and considering that they dropped two points in a 2-2 draw with Sunderland on Matchday 20, we predict that the visitors will fight tooth and nail in Saturday’s football match. German tactician Jurgen Klopp has turned the Reds into a goal-scoring machine and, taking everything into account, a high-scoring affair appears on the cards.
Highlighted Player (Antonio Valencia):
Antonio Valencia is a versatile right winger who plays for English Premier League club Manchester United. The 30-year-old is often deployed as a right-back too, both at the club and international level. Valencia was a first team regular at El Nacional after rising swiftly through the youth ranks. He would then move to Spanish side Villarreal whose time at the club was spent on loans to Recreativo and Wigan Athletic. After impressing for them on loan, Wigan Athletic signed Valencia permanently in 2008. His performance for them soon attracted interest from several high profile clubs and Valencia eventually signed for Manchester United. He was touted as a replacement to Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford and would go on to win many titles with them. Valencia made his national debut in 2005 and represented in two FIFA World Cups and as many Copa America. He has won 80 caps for his nation and scored eight goals so far.
Highlighted Team (Liverpool):
Founded back in 1892, Liverpool are one of England’s and world’s most famous clubs. The Reds hold a high-profile rivalry with Everton and there have always been fireworks when the two teams take on each other in the Merseyside derby. The Reds welcome their opponents at Anfield and it has to be noted that they have already won 18 first division trophies. Liverpool were on the verge of lifting the 2014/2015 Premier League trophy, but Steven Gerrard slipped in the decider against Chelsea and left the Reds without a title. Liverpool won their last Champions League trophy in 2005, with the team coming from three goals behind to beat Milan in a historic clash in Istanbul. The Reds have clinched five European Cups and it is no surprise they are regarded as one of the greatest European clubs. The likes of Steven Gerrard, Robbie Fowler, Paul Ince, Ian Rush, Graeme Souness, Sami Hyypia and Luis Suarez are some of the most notable footballers to have represented the club over the years. The club’s anthem is You’ll Never Walk Alone and their shirt colour is red.
