Our football match prediction:
Vicarage Road Stadium will host Saturday’s football match between Watford and West Ham United. Following back-to-back wins over Arsenal and Burnley, the Hornets suffered a 2-0 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford and it remains to be seen if they are capable of starting a new winning run in the English top flight. Watford are on the right track to secure the Premier League survival, but they can’t afford suffering yet another dip in form. Troy Deeney has been in a fine form of late and he is likely to pose a big threat for the opposition defenders. West Ham United were on the verge of recording a come-from-behind win over WBA at the weekend, but the Baggies eventually scored the equalizing goal in the dying seconds of the match. Seeing that only two points separate the two teams in the Premier League standings, we predict that fans will see a close encounter at Vicarage Road Stadium.
Highlighted Player (Deeney):
Troy Deeney started his professional career in 2006 at Walsall. The prolific attacker scored 27 goals in 123 appearances for the club and in 2010 he went on to sign a contract with Watford. He joined the Hornets for a fee of £500,000 and it has to be noted that he scored only two goals for the team in the 2010/2011 Championship campaign. However, as time went by he was raising his form and in the 2014/2015 the English attacker scored 21 goals for Watford and helped the team secure promotion to the Premier League. Troy Deeney was playing an important role in Quique Sanchez Flores’ team on their return to the English top flight and he bagged no fewer than 13 goals in the 2015/2016 season. Deeney was born in Birmingham, West Midlands, on 29 June, 1988 and he has two children, Myles, a son, and a daughter Amelia. His brother Ellis is a football player as well, but he plays as a midfielder. The striker has also spent some time in prison, but has since seriously improved his behaviour.
Highlighted Team (West Ham United):
West Ham United are an English football club based in East London. The club was founded in 1895 and it has to be noted that the club’s name was Thames Ironworks back then. The Hammers were playing their home games at Upton Park from 1904 until 2016, when they moved to the Stadium at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. West Ham have won three FA Cup trophies (1964, 1975 and 1980) and they were runners-up in 1923 and 2006. The capital club finished the 1985/1986 England first division campaign in third place in the standings and that is the club’s highest placing in the top flight. West Ham United have strong rivalries with fellow London clubs, but Tottenham Hotspur are considered the club’s main rivals. A number of top-class players were part of West Ham in the past and the likes of Joe Cole, Carlos Tevez, Paolo Di Canio, Paul Ince, Julian Dicks, Shaka Hislop, Michael Carrick and Slaven Bilic are some of them.
