Our football match prediction:
West Bromwich Albion were unfortunate not to grab something from the Stamford Bridge clash against Chelsea at the weekend, but they picked up all three points from Wednesday’s football match against Swansea City. Salomon Rondon scored a hat-trick for the Baggies in the 3-1 win over Bob Bradley’s troops and, no doubt, Tony Pulis can breathe easier ahead of the visit of Manchester United. Zlatan Ibrahimovic helped the Red Devils beat Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, but it is more than obvious that the star-studded team have been playing below expectations this season. Jose Mourinho’s men occupy sixth position in the standings ahead of Matchday 17 and considering that they are six points behind the Champions League berth, this has to go down as a must-win game for the visitors. However, the Baggies impressed in the victory over Swansea and we predict that they will make life difficult for the English giants on Saturday. WBA recorded a 1-0 win over Manchester United in their last meeting at the Hawthorns.
Highlighted Player (Evans):
Originating from Belfast, Jonny Evans is one of the most famous football players from the new generation of the Northern Ireland national team, although numerous injuries prevented the centre-back from showing all he’s got. Coming through the famous Manchester United youth academy, Evans was promoted to the senior set up by club icon Sir Alex Ferguson and he would go on to lift four Premier League trophies with the Red Devils, making over 130 league appearances for the club before moving to West Bromwich Albion in 2015. During his time at Old Trafford, the defender usually played back up to Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand, but made quite a few appearances in important games, including 31 Champions League outings. As soon as he was given a chance to impress at Manchester United, Evans was called to the Northern Ireland national team and he has made over 40 appearances on international stage since 2006, helping his country qualify for the Euro 2016 finals.
Highlighted Team (Manchester United):
Over the years Manchester United have established themselves as one of the greatest clubs in world football. The Red Devils have won three European Cup (Champions League) trophies and they have clinched no less than 20 Premier League titles. A number of top-class players were part of Manchester United in the past, but, no doubt, the club’s biggest legend is coach Sir Alex Ferguson, who was in charge of the team for 26 years. During Alex Ferguson’s spell at Old Trafford the club won a number of trophies, but the Red Devils have been struggling in all competitions ever since he retired. Louis van Gaal helped Manchester United win the FA Cup trophy in the 2015/2016 season, with Jese Lingard scoring the winner in the 2-1 triumph over Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium. The likes of Bobby Charlton, Paul Scholes, Roy Keane, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, George Best and Eric Cantona are the football stars that graced Old Trafford for Manchester United.
