Our football match prediction:
All eyes will be on Estadio Vicente Calderon when Atletico Madrid and Barcelona face each other in the La Liga derby. Both sides aim to melt Real Madrid’s advantage in the standings and we predict that both teams will go for a win in Sunday’s football game. Atletico Madrid are on a three-game winning run in the league ahead of the visit of Barcelona and seeing that the Catalan giants have been struggling at the back of late, we believe that the capital club will find the net in Sunday’s derby. A man to watch in the home team will be Kevin Gameiro, who scored a hat-trick in the 4-1 win over Sporting Gijon at the weekend. Barca were more than fortunate to beat Leganes in their last league fixture, with Leo Messi scoring the winner from the penalty spot in the dying minutes of the match, but Luis Enrique’s men remained in the race for the title. The reigning champions face a must-win situation against Atletico Madrid and, taking everything into account, high-scoring affair appears on the horizon.
Highlighted Player (Koke):
Jorge Resurreccion Merodio “Koke” has enjoyed a meteoric rise after coming through the youth ranks at Atletico Madrid, quickly becoming an important player for both club and country. Possessing impressive technical skills and very mature for his age, the highly rated midfielder is capable of covering just about any position in the middle of the park and he has been used as a central midfielder, left winger and right winger by both Diego Simeone and Vicente Del Bosque. Koke has been a key member of one of the best generations in the history of Atletico Madrid, winning the 2013/2014 La Liga trophy and reaching the Champions League final the same year. Widely regarded as one of Europe’s best midfielders, it is only a matter of time before Koke will join an absolute top club and he is believed to be a primary target for La Liga rivals Barcelona. While playing alongside Xavi Hernandez at the 2014 World Cup, Koke is believed to be a worthy successor of the former Catalans star in the national team now that he has retired, and with 20 Spain caps to his name, his international career is just starting.
Highlighted Team (Barcelona):
Barcelona are a Spanish football club based in Barcelona, Catalonia. Barca were founded in 1899 and they are regarded as one of the greatest clubs in world football. The Catalan giants won their 24th La Liga title in 2016, with Luis Suarez winning “El Pichichi” award. Barcelona have won five European Cup trophies and a number of top-class players were part of the team in the past. The likes of Hristo Stoichkov, Romario, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Johan Cruyff, Diego Maradona and Pep Guardiola are some of many players that played for Barca in the past, but, no doubt, Leo Messi has established himself as the club’s trademark. Barcelona welcome their rivals at Camp Nou, the stadium that was built in 1957. Barcelona’s local rivals are Espanyol, but the rivalry between Barca and Real Madrid is much bigger. The two La Liga giants face each other in “El Clasico”, which is considered one of the most exciting derbies in the world football. Barca are famous for their football youth school La Masia as well.
