Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Atletico Madrid will be looking to cement top position in the La Liga standings with a win over Granada on Matchday 8. Los Rojiblancos proved their worth in a 2-0 victory over Valencia and they are now eyeing their third consecutive win in the Spanish top flight. Diego Simeone can count on all of his key players for the clash against Granada and it is no surprise the capital club are considered favourites on paper to pick up all three points from the match. Over the years Atletico Madrid have turned their Estadio Vicente Calderon into a real fortress and seeing that the rock-bottom team head into Saturday’s football game with the lack of confidence, we predict that los Rojiblancos will extend their winning run in La Liga. Antoine Griezmann has been in a fine form of late, meaning that the opposition defenders should have him at bay.
Highlighted Player (Jose Gimenez):
Jose Gimenez is a fast rising 21-year-old young Uruguayan defender who plays for Spanish club Atletico Madrid. Gimenez is primarily a central defender and is recognized to be a natural and fast defender who is classy on the ball. His qualities came to the fore during his youth team presence at Toledo but his professional debut was in 2012 for Danubio.
His stint at the club was short-lived as the highly rated defender was quickly snapped up by Atletico Madrid after raving reviews. He soon made his mark in Diego Simeone’s team and became a crowd favorite after scoring a vital header against rivals Real Madrid.
He participated in the FIFA U-20 World Cup reaching the finals with Uruguay. His senior team debut was in 2013 and has played 21 times for the national side. Gimenez also has three goals in international colors, the first of which came in 2014.
Highlighted Team (Granada):
Granada are an Andalusian football club that plays in Spanish La Liga. The club were founded on 14 April, 1931 and they have yet to win the Primera Division trophy. El Grana, though, booked their place in the Spanish Cup final in 1959, but Barcelona proved to be a big catch for the Andalusian outfit.
Granada host their rivals at Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes, the stadium that was built in 1995. The capacity of the stadium is 23,934. Granada’s main rivals are fellow Andalusian team Sevilla, but Real Betis are regarded as the club’s bitter rivals as well.
The likes of Yacine Brahimi, Juan Aguero, Gustavo Benitez, Pahinho, Denis Milar, Julio Montero Castillo, Capi, Cesar and Jose Mingorance are famous players that were part of the Estadio El Sadar outfit in the past. The original colour of Granada’s kits were blue and white, but after the Spanish Civil War the club chiefs bought new ones (red and white).
