Our football match prediction:
Buoyed by a 3-2 win over Real Madrid in El Clasico Barcelona head into Wednesday’s football game against Osasuna. The Catalan giants proved their worth in Sunday’s derby and, no doubt, they are high on confidence ahead of the visit of Osasuna. Leo Messi proved a handful for Real Madrid defenders and all eyes will be on “The Magician” when the two teams face each other at Camp Nou on Matchday 34. Los Rojillos, on the other hand, have slim chances of securing the La Liga survival and it has to be noted that the rock-bottom team are nine points behind Leganes, who are safe for now. Osasuna suffered a 3-0 loss to Atletico Madrid at Estadio Vicente Calderon in their last away game in the league and, taking everything into account, we predict that the visitors will return home empty-handed. Barcelona are level on points with Real Madrid and they need to keep on winning if they are to defend their trophy.
Highlighted Player (Andre Gomes):
Andre Filipe Tavares Gomes is a Portuguese footballer who represented the likes of Porto, Boavista and Benfica during his youth career, but eventually signed a professional deal with the Eagles. Even if he hadn’t made too many first team appearances for the Portuguese giants, the midfielder saw his economic rights sold to a private company in January 2014, and the deal eventually saw him join Spanish giants Valencia. The attacking midfielder immediately nailed down a regular starting berth at Mestalla, proving his undoubted potential, and catching the eye of top Italian sides such as Juventus and Napoli. Gomes has yet to establish himself as an important player for the Portugal national team, but he has made several appearances under Fernando Santos and is expected to play a key role for the Selecao in the future. Possessing impressive technical skills and capable of covering a number of positions in midfield, Gomes is a modern midfielder who has been showing incredible maturity for his age, so no wonder he is predicted a bright future in the game.
Highlighted Team (Osasuna):
Osasuna are a Basque football team that plays in Spanish La Liga. Los Rojillos are based in Pamplona and and the club were founded in 1920. Estadio El Sadar has been the home of Osasuna since 1967 and the capacity of the stadium is 19,800. The colour of Osasuna’s home kit is red, while the team’s shorts are navy blue. Los Rojillos dropped to the Segunda Division at the end of the 2013/2014 La Liga campaign, but they did not spend too many time in the Spanish second tier. The club returned to the elite division in 2016 after beating Girona in the play-offs. Osasuna made it to the Spanish Copa del Rey final in 2005, but they eventually lost to Real Betis after extra time in the title game. The meaning of the word Osasuna is “health” in Basque and it is used in a sense of strength.
