Our football match prediction:
Atletico Madrid desperately needed a win against Las Palmas and they got one. Los Rojiblancos recorded a hard-fought 1-0 victory over los Amarillos, but it has to be noted that the capital club missed a number of clear-cut chances to score in the Estadio Vicente Calderon clash. Diego Simeone’s men have been playing below expectations this season and they need to improve their game as soon as possible if they are to finish the season in top three. Saturday’s football game is of big importance for the visitors and we predict that coach Diego Simeone is going to field the best possible side against Eibar. Los Armeros are on a three-game winless run in the league, but they sit in the top half of the table ahead of Matchday 17 and they are only five points behind Atletico Madrid in the La Liga standings. Nevertheless, los Rojiblancos do not suit Eibar and we are tempted to put our money on the away team.
Highligted Player (Gonzalo Escalante):
Gonzalo Escalante is an Argentine footballer who plays for Eibar in Spanish La Liga. Escalante made his senior debut for Boca Juniors, coming as a substitute in a 6-1 loss to San Martin de San Juan. After playing 11 matches for the Argentine giants, he was sent on loan to Catania on 28 August, 2014 and he scored his first professional goal against Virtus Entella on 28 October. On 29 January Escalante signed a permanent deal with the Sicilian outfit and he played 26 games for the club in the 2015/2016 campaign. At the end of the season he joined La Liga team Eibar on loan and he made his debut for los Armeros on 24 August against Granada. He managed to find his net on his debut and six months later he signed a permanent deal with the club. His contract with Eibar expires on 30 June, 2020. His main position is central midfield, but he is capable of playing as a defensive midfielder as well.
Highlighted Team (Atletico Madrid):
Atletico Madrid are a Spanish team that plays in Primera Division (La Liga). Los Rojiblancos or los Colchoneros play their home matches at Estadio Vicente Calderon, which holds up to 54,960 spectators. Atletico Madrid have won 10 La Liga titles, but they have yet to lift the European Cup (Champions League) trophy. Los Rojblancos have won 10 Copa del Rey (Spanish Cup) trophies and it has to be noted that they defeated their bitter local rivals Real Madrid in the 2012/2013 Spanish Cup final. The rivalry between the two capital clubs is pretty big and El Madrileno is regarded as one of the most exciting derbies in the world football. Atletico Madrid played two Champions League finals under Diego Simeone, but they failed to beat Real Madrid in the title games (2013/2014 and 2015/2016). However, the Argentine tactician helped Atletico Madrid win the La Liga trophy in 2014 and, no doubt, he is one of the most successful coaches in the history of the capital club.
