Our football match prediction:
Buoyed by a 5-0 win over Las Palmas in their last league match, Barcelona square off against Eibar at Estadio Municipal de Ipurua on Matchday 19. The Catalan giants melted Real Madrid’s advantage to only two points in the La Liga standings, but they should not stop now. Coach Luis Enrique is likely to field the best possible side against Eibar in Sunday’s football game and we predict that Leo Messi, who has been scoring goals for fun of late, is going to prove a handful for the opposition defenders. Los Armeros did remarkably well to beat Sporting Gijon on the road in their last league match, but Barca are likely to pose a much bigger threat for the hosts than their previous rivals. David faces Goliath at “Ipurua” and there is every chance the visitors will pick up all three points from the match. A man to watch in the home team will be former Real Madrid man Pedro Leon.
Highlighted Player (Gonzalo Escalante):
Gonzalo Escalante is an Argentine footballer who plays for Eibar in Spanish La Liga. Escalante made his senior debut for Boca Juniors, coming as a substitute in a 6-1 loss to San Martin de San Juan. After playing 11 matches for the Argentine giants, he was sent on loan to Catania on 28 August, 2014 and he scored his first professional goal against Virtus Entella on 28 October. On 29 January Escalante signed a permanent deal with the Sicilian outfit and he played 26 games for the club in the 2015/2016 campaign. At the end of the season he joined La Liga team Eibar on loan and he made his debut for los Armeros on 24 August against Granada. He managed to find his net on his debut and six months later he signed a permanent deal with the club. His contract with Eibar expires on 30 June, 2020. His main position is central midfield, but he is capable of playing as a defensive midfielder as well.
Highlighted Team (Barcelona):
Barcelona are a Spanish football club based in Barcelona, Catalonia. Barca were founded in 1899 and they are regarded as one of the greatest clubs in world football. The Catalan giants won their 24th La Liga title in 2016, with Luis Suarez winning “El Pichichi” award. Barcelona have won five European Cup trophies and a number of top-class players were part of the team in the past. The likes of Hristo Stoichkov, Romario, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Johan Cruyff, Diego Maradona and Pep Guardiola are some of many players that played for Barca in the past, but, no doubt, Leo Messi has established himself as the club’s trademark. Barcelona welcome their rivals at Camp Nou, the stadium that was built in 1957. Barcelona’s local rivals are Espanyol, but the rivalry between Barca and Real Madrid is much bigger. The two La Liga giants face each other in “El Clasico”, which is considered one of the most exciting derbies in the world football. Barca are famous for their football youth school La Masia as well.
