Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Espanyol have been impressive at the back of late. The Catalan outfit managed to keep a clean sheet in previous four games in all competitions and they are likely to rely on their rock-solid defence in Saturday’s football match against Leganes. Espanyol head into the game following a hard-fought win at Alaves and they are certainly capable of beating yet another newly-promoted side. Leganes made a promising start to the season, but they have been dropping down the standings ever since they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Granada and, taking everything into account, they are unlikely to spoil Espanyol’s party at RCDE Stadium. The two teams meet for the first time ever in the Spanish top flight and, taking everything into account, we predict that Espanyol, who have been in a fine form in recent weeks, are going to pick up all three points from Saturday’s football match.
Highlighted Player (Javi Lopez):
Javi Lopez is Spanish footballer who plays for La Liga side Espanyol. Lopez plays for the Catalan outfit as a midfielder, but he is capable of playing at full back as well. After spending his youth career at Real Betis, he moved to Espanyol in 2007 and he was playing for the B squad between 2007 and 2010.
Under Argentine coach Mauricio Pochettino he was promoted to the first team and he has been playing for Espanyol in La Liga ever since. He made his Espanyol debut on 4 October, 2009 in a goalless draw with Villarreal. Javi Lopez was born in Osuna, Andalusia, but he lives with his family in Barcelona. The Spanish player was born on 21 January.
His contract with Espanyol expires on 30 June, 2018 and it has to be noted that his market value in July, 2016 was €3 million. Following Sergio Garcia’s departure he was named Espanyol captain for the 2015/2016 La Liga campaign.
Highlighted Team (Leganes):
Leganes are a Spanish football club that have mostly been playing in lower leagues. Los Pepineros play their home games at Batarque (Madrid) and the capacity of the stadium is just 8,138. Leganes secured their promotion to the Spanish La Liga for the first time ever in 2016 and, no doubt, that is considered the club’s biggest success.
Leganes’ bitterest rivals are fellow capital club Getafe and there have always been fireworks when the two teams take on each other in the South Madrid derby.
The colour of the team’s home kit is white and blue, whilst their away kits are green. The likes of Pierre Webo, Samuel Eto’o, Ivan Zarandona, Jose Chamot, Catanha, Ruben Falcon, Jordi Lardin and Pedro Lago are famous players who were part of the Batarque outfit in the past. Lady Maria Victoria Pavon is the first female president in the history of the club and she has been in charge of the club since 2009.
