Our football match prediction:
Despite being regarded as favourites in Thursday’s game against Real Betis, Espanyol suffered a shocking 3-0 loss to Juan Merino’s troops at their RCDE Stadium. Los Periquitos are just two points clear of the relegation zone at the moment, meaning that Monday’s clash against Rayo Vallecano is of big importance for the Catalan outfit. As expected, Rayo were hammered by Barcelona in front of home fans in midweek (1-5) and seeing that the visitors are desperate to return to winning ways, they are likely to adopt an attack-minded approach in Sunday’s game. Los Vallecanos have been scoring goals for fun in 2016 and taking into account that Espanyol are a real force to be reckoned with at home, we predict that both teams will score on Matchday 28. It has to be noted that no less than 18 goals were scored in previous five meetings between the two teams.
