Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Buoyed by a 1-0 win over Valencia at Estadio de Mestalla, Girona take on Leganes at their Estadi Municipal de Montilivi on Matchday 12. The Catalan side have been climbing the standings week by week and seeing that a win over Leganes should see them climb to the Europa League berth, we predict that the hosts will adopt an attack-minded approach in Saturday’s football game. The capital club, on the other hand, did well to hold star-studded Atletico Madrid to a 1-1 draw in the local derby at the weekend, but you should bear in mind that they extended their winless run in all competitions to four games. Girona are more of a team than Leganes in our opinion, therefore, we believe that home win should be considered. Pere Pons scored the winner for the Catalans against Valencia, meaning that the opposition defenders should have him at bay.

Highlighted Player (Gorka Iraizoz):

Gorka Iraizoz is a goalkeeper who plays for La Liga side Athletic Bilbao. Iraizoz was born in Pamplona on 6 March, 1981 and he is 191 cm tall. The Athletic Bilbao shoot-stopper started his senior career at Basconia, playing 20 matches for the club between 1999 and 2000.
He played for La Liga side Espanyol in the past as well, but on 7 August, 2007 he signed for Athletic Bilbao. Iraizoz made a right decision when he joined the Basque outfit as he participated in the 2011/2012 Europa League final.
However, he did not win the trophy with the Lions as Atletico Madrid rolled over Athletic Bilbao in the title game. He made it to the Copa del Rey final on three occasions with Athletic Bilbao, but he failed to win the Spanish Cup trophy with the Basque team. Gorka Iraizoz made six appearances for the Basque Country, but he has yet to make his Spain debut.
Highlighted Team (Leganes):

Leganes are a Spanish football club that have mostly been playing in lower leagues. Los Pepineros play their home games at Batarque (Madrid) and the capacity of the stadium is just 8,138. Leganes secured their promotion to the Spanish La Liga for the first time ever in 2016 and, no doubt, that is considered the club’s biggest success.
Leganes’ bitterest rivals are fellow capital club Getafe and there have always been fireworks when the two teams take on each other in the South Madrid derby.
The colour of the team’s home kit is white and blue, whilst their away kits are green. The likes of Pierre Webo, Samuel Eto’o, Ivan Zarandona, Jose Chamot, Catanha, Ruben Falcon, Jordi Lardin and Pedro Lago are famous players who were part of the Batarque outfit in the past. Lady Maria Victoria Pavon is the first female president in the history of the club and she has been in charge of the club since 2009.
