Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Following a strong start to their La Liga campaign which kicked off with a win over Celta, newly-promoted Leganes will face the strongest test yet in the Spanish championship. Asier Garitano’s men went on to record a goalless draw against Atletico Madrid, but have subsequently failed to extend the positive momentum as they succumbed to a 2-1 to Sporting last time out. Barcelona, on their own part, travel to Leganes on the back of a memorable UEFA Champions League 7-0 triumph over Celtic. Argentine magician Lionel Messi produced a stunning display, hitting a record sixth hat-trick in Europe’s top competition in what has been Celtic’s heaviest European defeat. Brazilian Neymar was in excellent form as well on the night assisting four goals and scoring one himself. The game against Celtic was Barcelona’s perfect response following a shock defeat to Alaves last weekend. The Catalans are expected to continue with strong performances and we predict another big-margin win for Luis Enrique’s men.
Highlighted Player (Gabriel Pires):
Gabriel Appelt Pires is a Brazilian footballer who play for Leganes in Spanish La Liga. Pires is a product of Vasco da Gama’s youth school, but he made his senior debut at Resende. In 2012 he signed for Juventus for a fee of €2 million, but he was immediately sent on loan to Pro Vercelli.
After spending several seasons on loan at Pro Vercelli, Spezia, Pescara and Livorno he signed a loan deal with Leganes for the 2015/2016 Segunda Division campaign. The 183-cm-tall midfielder scored seven goals in 37 appearances for Leganes in the Spanish second tier and, as a result, the club chiefs decided to sign a permanent deal with him.
Gabriel is an attacking midfielder, but he is capable of playing as a central midfielder as well. His brother Guilherme is a football player as well. Gabriel is a left-footed player, while his brother prefers playing with his right foot. They were born in Resende, Brazil.
Highlighted Team (Barcelona):
Barcelona is a Spanish football club based in Barcelona, Catalonia. Barca were founded in 1899 and they are regarded as one of the greatest clubs in world football. The Catalan giants won their 24th La Liga title in 2016, with Luis Suarez winning “El Pichichi” award. Barcelona have won five European Cup trophies and a number of top-class players were part of the team in the past.
The likes of Hristo Stoichkov, Romario, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Johan Cruyff, Diego Maradona and Pep Guardiola are some of many players that played for Barca in the past, but, no doubt, Leo Messi has established himself as the club’s trademark. Barcelona welcome their rivals at Camp Nou, the stadium that was built in 1957.
Barcelona’s local rivals are Espanyol, but the rivalry between Barca and Real Madrid is much bigger. The two La Liga giants face each other in “El Clasico”, which is considered one of the most exciting derbies in the world football. Barca are famous for their football youth school La Masia as well.
