Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Despite being regarded as underdogs in Wednesday’s football match against Real Sociedad, Rayo Vallecano did well to hold the Basques to a 2-2 draw at Estadio Municipal de Anoeta. Los Vallecanos are after their second win of the season and a victory over Espanyol will see them move away from the danger zone in the La Liga standings. The capital club have been struggling at home ground this season, but they are definitely capable of sharing the spoils with los Periquitos in the suburbs of Madrid. Espanyol, on the other hand, are a real force to be reckoned with at home, but seeing that they collected only one point from possible nine from away games, we predict that the two sides are going to play out a draw at Estadio del Rayo Vallecano. Both teams to score bet should be considered as well.

Highlighted Player (Jordi Amat):

As a product of Espanyol’s youth academy, Jordi Amat started his career with the club’s B side in the Spanish third division back in 2009/10 season. It was not too long before Amat was fast-tracked into the first team and managed to grab a starting place for the Barcelona-based club.
The Spanish centre-back fell out of favour in 2012 and was initially sent out on a loan spell with Rayo Vallecano before Espanyol decided to part ways with him and sell him to Swansea City in 2013. Having arrived at the Liberty as a 21-year-old, Amat signed a four-year deal to become another Spanish acquisition of Michael Laudrup who continued to raid La Liga following the success stories of Michu, Chico and Jonathan de Guzman.
Jordi Amat went on to record 73 appearances in all competitions during his three-year stay with Swansea City. In 2018 he returned to Spain – signing a deal with Rayo Vallecano – after a season spent on loan at Real Betis.
Highlighted Team (Espanyol):

Espanyol are a Catalan club that plays in Spanish La Liga. Espanyol were founded in 1900 and their original name was Sociedad Espanola de Football. In 1901 the Catalan club changed its name to Club Espanol de Futbol. Los Periquitos used to play in bright yellow shirts in the past, but current colour of the team’s home kit is blue and white.
Espanyol’s fiercest rivals are Barcelona and the two teams face each other in the Catalan derby (Derbi barceloni). Espanyol have always been in Barca’s shadow, but it has to be noted that los Periquitos have won four Copa del Rey (Spanish Cup trophies).
The likes of Raul Tamudo, Jose Maria, Antonio Argiles and Mauricio Pochettino are players with most appearances for the Catalan outfit. Espanyol play their home games at Estadio Cornella-El Prat and the capacity of the stadium is 40,500. Los Periquitos have never participated in the Champions League.
