Our football match prediction:
There will be fireworks when Real Madrid and Barcelona face each other at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. Los Blancos showed character in Saturday’s football game against Sporting Gijon, with Isco scoring a late winner for the capital club. Real Madrid are three points clear of their bitter rivals Barcelona ahead of El Clasico and the league leaders are likely to adopt a cautious approach in the derby. Cristiano Ronaldo was rested in the 3-2 win over Sporting Gijon, but the Portuguese superstar is likely to start against Barca and the opposition defenders are likely to have their work cut out for them when facing CR7. Luis Enrique’s troops have no other choice but to go all guns blazing at Real Madrid in El Clasico and that is the main reason why a high-scoring affair appears on the cards. Neymar misses the match through suspension, but we predict that Leo Messi, who scored a brace against Real Sociedad, is going to pose a big threat for the opposition back-line.
Highlighted Player (Cristiano Ronaldo):
Cristiano Ronaldo is considered one of the world’s best football players. The Portuguese ace was born on 5 February, 1985 in Funchal, Madeira and he played for the likes of Andorinha, Nacional and Sporting during his youth career. CR7 made his Sporting debut in Primeira Liga on 7 October, 2002, scoring two goals in a 3-0 win over Moreirense. Manchester United scouts spotted him and one year later he joined the Old Trafford outfit. Ronaldo became the most expensive teenager in the history of the Premier League and he received the number 7 shirt. He quickly established himself as the team’s key player and it has to be noted that he won three consecutive Premier League trophies with the Red Devils (2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2008/2009). In 2008 he helped the Old Trafford outfit beat Chelsea in the Champions League final, scoring for Alex Ferguson’s troops in the regular time. Ronaldo joined Real Madrid in 2009 and he helped the Spanish giants with two Champions League trophies. In 2016 he won the European Championship trophy with Portugal. The Real Madrid ace has two Golden Ball awards (2013, 2014).
Highlighted Team (Barcelona):
Barcelona are a Spanish football club based in Barcelona, Catalonia. Barca were founded in 1899 and they are regarded as one of the greatest clubs in world football. The Catalan giants won their 24th La Liga title in 2016, with Luis Suarez winning “El Pichichi” award. Barcelona have won five European Cup trophies and a number of top-class players were part of the team in the past. The likes of Hristo Stoichkov, Romario, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Johan Cruyff, Diego Maradona and Pep Guardiola are some of many players that played for Barca in the past, but, no doubt, Leo Messi has established himself as the club’s trademark. Barcelona welcome their rivals at Camp Nou, the stadium that was built in 1957. Barcelona’s local rivals are Espanyol, but the rivalry between Barca and Real Madrid is much bigger. The two La Liga giants face each other in “El Clasico”, which is considered one of the most exciting derbies in the world football. Barca are famous for their football youth school La Masia as well.
