Our match prediction:
Sporting Gijon have been struggling to find their form of late. Los Rojiblancos suffered a 2-0 loss to Granada in Thursday’s relegation six-pointer and they will be looking to stop the run of six matches without a win when they take on Athletic Bilbao at their Estadio Municipal El Molinon on Sunday. Abelardo’s men sit in the relegation zone ahead of the visit of Bilbao and given that they head into the match with the lack of confidence, we do not believe that home win should be considered. Ernesto Valverde’s troops outclassed the likes of Valencia and Deportivo La Coruna in previous two league games and we predict that Aritz Aduriz and Co. will extend their winning run in the national championship. Athletic Bilbao recorded a routine win over Sporting Gijon when the two sides met at San Mames earlier this season and, taking everything into account, away win appears on the cards.
