Our football match prediction:
All eyes will be on Estadio de Mestalla when Valencia and Atletico Madrid face each other on day 3 of the 2017/2018 La Liga campaign. Los Che did well to hold title holders Real Madrid to a 2-2 draw at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and they are certainly high on confidence ahead of Saturday’s football match against Atletico Madrid. New coach Marcelino is doing a good job with Valencia and we predict that the hosts are going to extend their unbeaten run in the Spanish top flight. Los Rojiblancos played out a 2-2 draw with Girona in their opener, but they rolled over Las Palmas (5-1) in their second game of the season and they aim to build on the triumph. However, seeing that los Che kicked off the new La Liga campaign in style, there is every chance the two teams will share the spoils at “Mestalla”.
Highligted Player (Murillo):
Jeison Murillo is a 24-year-old Colombian defender who plays for Inter Milan in Serie A. The centre back started in the youth teams of Deportivo Cali but made his senior professional bow with Udinese and Granada, as part of the partnership agreement between the clubs. He moved on a permanent basis to Granada in 2011 but spent most of his time on loans at fellow Spanish league clubs Cadiz and Las Palmas. His talent was there for everyone to see and soon he would end up moving to Inter Milan in 2015. Murillo made his international debut for Colombia in 2014. He was also a member of the 2015 Copa America squad and scored his solitary goal in national colors against Brazil. He would go on to win the “Best Young Player” of the tournament. Murillo is a hard-tackling no-nonsense centre back and is regarded as a ball-playing defender, which is almost a rarity in world football.
Highlighted Team (Atletico Madrid):
Atletico Madrid are a Spanish team that plays in Primera Division (La Liga). Los Rojiblancos or los Colchoneros play their home matches at Estadio Vicente Calderon, which holds up to 54,960 spectators. Atletico Madrid have won 10 La Liga titles, but they have yet to lift the European Cup (Champions League) trophy. Los Rojblancos have won 10 Copa del Rey (Spanish Cup) trophies and it has to be noted that they defeated their bitter local rivals Real Madrid in the 2012/2013 Spanish Cup final. The rivalry between the two capital clubs is pretty big and El Madrileno is regarded as one of the most exciting derbies in the world football. Atletico Madrid played two Champions League finals under Diego Simeone, but they failed to beat Real Madrid in the title games (2013/2014 and 2015/2016). However, the Argentine tactician helped Atletico Madrid win the La Liga trophy in 2014 and, no doubt, he is one of the most successful coaches in the history of the capital club.
