Our football match prediction:
Villarreal did not make a flying start to the season, with the team suffering back-to-back losses to the likes of Levante and Real Sociedad in the first two league fixtures. However, the Yellow Submarine proved their worth in a 3-1 win over Real Betis on Matchday 3 and they did well to crush Deportivo Alaves on the road at the weekend. Villarreal do not want to stop now and they aim to keep on climbing the standings. The attacking partnership of Carlos Bacca and Cedric Bakambu has been in a perfect working order of late and we predict that the duo is going to prove a handful for the opposition defenders. Espanyol are not regarded as good travelers and seeing that the Catalan side were hammered by Barcelona in their last away match, we are tempted to put our money on the Yellows this time out.
Highlighted Player (Roberto Soriano):
Born in Darmstadt, Germany on February 8, 1991 Roberto Soriano started his career at the youth team of Bayern Munich at the age of 15. In 2009 he moved to Sampdoria and he made his senior debut for La Samp on October 5, 2011, but it has to be noted that he played for Empoli on loan in the 2010/2011 season. The prolific midfielder scored 18 goals in 136 appearances in the league for Sampdoria before joining Villarreal in the summer of 2016. Roberto Soriano signed a five-year contract with the Yellow Submarine on August 2, 2016 and he has been playing for the La Liga side ever since. The 182-cm-tall footballer impressed in the 2016/2017 Primera Division campaign as he scored ten goals in the process, while providing seven assists for his teammates. Roberto Soriano has a dual citizenship (Germany/Italy), but he decided to represent the Azzurri on the international stage. He made his debut for the Italy national football team in November, 2014 against Croatia.
Highlighted Team (Espanyol):
Espanyol are a Catalan club that plays in Spanish La Liga. Espanyol were founded in 1900 and their original name was Sociedad Espanola de Football. In 1901 the Catalan club changed its name to Club Espanol de Futbol. Los Periquitos used to play in bright yellow shirts in the past, but current colour of the team’s home kit is blue and white. Espanyol’s fiercest rivals are Barcelona and the two teams face each other in the Catalan derby (Derbi barceloni). Espanyol have always been in Barca’s shadow, but it has to be noted that los Periquitos have won four Copa del Rey (Spanish Cup trophies). The likes of Raul Tamudo, Jose Maria, Antonio Argiles and Mauricio Pochettino are players with most appearances for the Catalan outfit. Espanyol play their home games at Estadio Cornella-El Prat and the capacity of the stadium is 40,500. Los Periquitos have never participated in the Champions League.
