Our prediction for this Segunda Division match:
Mallorca will be aiming to cement top position in La Liga 2 standings when they take on Castellon on Matchday 17. Los Bermellones are eyeing their fourth consecutive win in Segunda Division, and they are seen as hot favourites to pick up all three points from Monday’s clash. Mallorca did well to beat promotion-chasing Almeria thanks to Prats’ late goal, and they are surely capable of beating Castellon at home ground.
The visitors, on the other hand, continue with their habit of producing much better showings at home than on the travels, and given Mallorca’s impressive home record, we predict that Oscar Cano’s troops are going to return home empty-handed. In their last meeting in La Liga 2 Castellon emerged triumphant, but we are tempted to put our money on the league leaders this time out, who are eyeing their sixth home win of the season.
Highlighted Player (Aleksandar Trajkovski):
Aleksandar Trajkovski is a Macedonian international who played for Cementarnica 55 during his youth career. He made 11 league appearances for the club at senior level as well and in 2010 he moved to Croatian team Inter Zapresic.
The attacking midfielder failed to prove his worth in the 2010/2011 season and, as a result, he was sold to Zulte Waregem in the summer of 2011. He played an important role in the Belgian team from 2011 to 2015 as he scored 11 goals in 83 league appearances for the club. It has to be noted, though, that Trajkovski spend the 2013/2014 season on loan at Mechelen. In 2015 he was named Macedonian Footballer of the Year and the same year he signed a contract with Italian side Palermo.
Speaking of his international career, Aleksandar Trajkovski has 15 caps for Macedonia U21 and he made his debut for the senior team on 10 August, 2011 in a friendly against Azerbaijan.
Highlighted Team (Castellon):
CD Castellon is a Spanish club based in the Valencian Community. Valencia flag dominates the club’s crest, but their home colours are white with black stripes. Castellon footballers wear green jerseys and green shorts when playing on the travels.
The club have been having their ups and downs ever since it was founded on July 20, 1922, with the team finishing fifth in the Spanish elite division in the 1972/73 season. It has to be noted that Castellon have not played in La Liga since the 1990/91 campaign when they suffered relegation to Segunda Division. Nowadays, Castellon compete in the Spanish second tier, with the team welcoming their rivals at Nou Castalia stadium.
Legendary Spanish coach Vicente Del Bosque played for the club in the 1970s. Castellon’s biggest success came in the 1972/73 season as they participated in the Copa del rey final. However, Athletic Bilbao proved to be a big catch for them in the title game.
