Our football match prediction:
As expected, Roma recorded a routine 2-0 win over Empoli at the weekend, with the team melting Juve’s advantage in the standings to six points. The Giallorossi, though, need to keep on winning if they are to put an end to Juventus’ dominance in the Serie A and we predict that the capital club will go all guns blazing at Bologna when the two teams face each other at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara on Matchday 31. Edin Dzeko is enjoying a very successful season and the Bosnian attacker, who scored a brace against Empoli, is likely to make life difficult for the opposition defenders in Sunday’s football game. After recording back-to-back wins over the likes of Sassuolo and Chievo, Bologna suffered a 1-0 loss to Fiorentina in their last league fixture and given Roma’s fine form, home win should not be considered. The Romans are high on confidence ahead of the trip to Bologna and they are likely to record their fifth consecutive win in all competitions.
Highlighted Player (Mattia Destro):
Mattia Destro started his youth career at Ascoli, but in 2005 he moved to Inter. The Italian attacker, though, made his debut in the Serie A with Genoa in the 2010/2011 season. He scored 2 goals in 16 appearances for the Rossoblu and at the end of the season he signed a deal with Siena. Destro netted 12 goals for Siena in 30 league appearances for the club and on 30 July, 2012 he joined fellow Serie A team Roma for a fee of €8.5 million. The Italian footballer made his debut for the capital club on 2 September, 2012 in a 3-1 victory over Inter. Destro scored 24 goals for Roma between 2012 and 2015 and after ending his loan spell with Milan he joined Bologna on 20 August, 2015. Speaking of his international career, the Bologna forward has 15 caps for Italy U21 and he made his debut for the senior team on 15 August, 2012 against England at Wembley Stadium. He made Italy’s 2014 provisional FIFA World Cup squad, but he eventually failed to make the final roster.
Highlighted Team (AS Roma):
AS Roma are a professional football club based in Rome. Roma were founded by a merger in 1927 and they play in the Italian Serie A. Roma’s fiercest rivals are Lazio and it has to be noted that both capital clubs play their home games at Stadio Olimpico. The two local rivals face each other in the Derby della Capitale, which is considered one of the most exciting derbies in the world of football. The Giallorossi (The Yellow and Reds) have won three Serie A titles (1941/1942, 1982/1983, 2000/2001), while winning nine Coppa Italia trophies. The colour of Roma’s shirts is imperial purple with a golden yellow trim. A number of top-class footballers were part of Roma in the past, but Francesco Totti is undisputedly the club’s biggest legend. “The Prince of Rome” made his 601 appearances for Roma on 14 May, 2016 when the Giallorossi recorded a 3-1 win over Milan at Stadio San Siro.
