Our football match prediction:
Benevento made a very slow start to the season, but they have been showing signs of improvement of late. The newcomers recorded a hard-fought 1-0 win over Chievo in their last game in 2017 and, to make things even better for the fans, they came from behind to beat Sampdoria at the weekend. Benevento are eight points behind the “safe zone” in the La Liga standings, meaning that Sunday’s football match against Bologna is of big importance for the visitors. The Rossoblu, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-0 loss to Torino at the weekend and they have been dropping down the standings week by week. Taking everything into account, a close encounter is on the cards and we believe that the two teams are going to play out a draw at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara on Matchday 21.
Highlighted Player (Erick Pulgar):
Erick Pulgar is a Chilean international who started his senior career at Deportes Antofagasta. Pulgar is a 186-cm-tall midfielder, who is capable of playing as a centre back as well and he is well known for his speed. After making 38 league appearances for the club he joined fellow Chilean outfit Universidad Catolica in 2014. The deal was confirmed on 28 June, 2014 and the Chilean defender joined los Cruzados for a fee of $ 500 000. In 2015 he decided to move to Europe and he signed a contract with Bologna for an undisclosed fee. The deal was sealed on 20 August. Erick Pulgar represented Chile at the 2016 Copa America, but he made no more than one appearance for La Roja at the tournament in USA. He came on as a substitute to replace injured midfielder Pablo Hernandez in a 2-0 win over Colombia. It is well known that Chile won the 2016 Copa America, beating star-studded Argentina in the title game.
Highlighted Team (Benevento):
FC Benevento secured promotion to the Serie A for the first time in their history at the end of the 2016/2017 campaign, but it has to be noted that they finished the regular season in 5th place in the standings. The Stregoni (Witches) did well to beat Perugia and Carpi in the promotion play-offs and, as a result, they are going to taste a top-flight football. Benevento were founded in 1929 as Associazione Calcio Benevento and back then they played their home games at Meomartini, the venue which was built by Ciccio Minocchia. Nowadays, the Stregoni welcome their rivals at Stadio Giro Vigorito and the capacity of the stadium is 12.847. Benevento are well known for their yellow jerseys with red stripes, whilst they wear white shirts and white shorts when playing on the travels. After Napoli, Salernitana and Avellino Benevento become the fourth club from Campania to compete in the Serie A. Matches between the aforementioned teams are well known as Campania derbies.
