Our prediction for this Serie A match:
Stadio Renato Dall’Ara will host Wednesday’s football game between Bologna and Lazio. Following three consecutive wins in the Serie A Bologna suffered a 1-0 loss to Atalanta in their last league fixture, but they remained in the top half of the table. Roberto Donadoni is doing a great job with Bologna and his men are on the right track to secure yet another top flight survival. Bologna welcome Lazio at their Stadio Renato Dall’Ara in midweek and, no doubt, the hosts face an uphill task in Wednesday’s clash against the high-flying capital club. The Biancocelesti are on a four-game winning run in the Italian elite division and they look unstoppable at the moment. Serbia international Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is in the form of his life and he is likely to prove a handful for the opposition defenders. Ciro Immobile has been scoring goals for fun in the first half of the season and, taking everything into account, away win should be considered.
Highlighted Player (Erick Pulgar):
Erick Pulgar is a Chilean international who started his senior career at Deportes Antofagasta. Pulgar is a 186-cm-tall midfielder, who is capable of playing as a centre back as well and he is well known for his speed. After making 38 league appearances for the club he joined fellow Chilean outfit Universidad Catolica in 2014. The deal was confirmed on 28 June, 2014 and the Chilean defender joined los Cruzados for a fee of $ 500 000. In 2015 he decided to move to Europe and he signed a contract with Bologna for an undisclosed fee. The deal was sealed on 20 August. Erick Pulgar represented Chile at the 2016 Copa America, but he made no more than one appearance for La Roja at the tournament in USA. He came on as a substitute to replace injured midfielder Pablo Hernandez in a 2-0 win over Colombia. It is well known that Chile won the 2016 Copa America, beating star-studded Argentina in the title game.
Highlighted Team (Lazio Roma):
Lazio Roma are an Italian football club based in Rome. Lazio were founded in 1900 and they compete in the Serie A. The Biancocelesti (The White and Sky Blues) have won two Serie A trophies (1973/1974, 1999/2000), while lifting six Coppa Italia titles.
The capital club play their home games at Stadio Olimpico and Roma are regarded as Lazio’s main rivals.
The two teams face each other in the Derby della Capitale and it is considered the fiercest inter-city derby in Italy. Lazio won UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1999, with the team beating Mallorca in the title game. The same year they managed to clinch the UEFA Super Cup trophy as they outplayed English giants Manchester United at Stade Louis II, Monaco.
The likes of Pavel Nedved, Giuseppe Favalli, Juan Sebastian Veron, Sinisa Mihajlovic, Roberto Mancini, Giuseppe Signori, Miroslav Klose and Simone Inzaghi are notable footballers who played for Lazio in the past.
