Our football match prediction:
Roma will be aiming to build on a terrific 3-1 victory over Juventus when they take on Chievo in Verona on the penultimate day of the season. The Giallorossi aim to stay in the race for Scudetto and they face a must-win situation in Saturday’s football match against Chievo. The Romans outplayed the likes of Milan and Juve in previous two league games and they are certainly high on confidence ahead of the trip to the “City of Love”. Luciano Spalletti’s troops have been scoring goals for fun in the season finale and seeing that the Mussi Volanti have nothing to play for in Saturday’s match, we predict that the capital club will extend their winning run in the national championship. Chievo recorded only one win in previous eight league fixtures and they head into the game against Roma following a 1-1 draw with Sampdoria.
Highligted Player (Nicola Rigoni):
Nicola Rigoni is a professional football player who was born in Schio, Italy on 12 November, 1990. Rigoni is a product of Vicenza’s youth school and he played 31 league games for the Biancorossi at senior level. In 2010 he decided to move to Palermo, but he made no more than four league appearances for the Sicilian outfit in the 2010/2011 season. The Italian midfielder returned to Vicenza in 2011, but he once again left the club (2012). Rigoni signed a contract with Chievo on 5 September, 2012, but he was immediately sent on loan to his former club Vicenza. After ending his loan spells with the likes of Reggina and Cittadella, he returned to Chievo for the 2015/2016 season. He made 28 league appearances for the Mussi Volanti, scoring three goals in the process. Nicola Rigoni has a contract with Chievo which expires on 30 June, 2018. His main position is defensive midfield, but he is capable of producing fine displays further up the pitch as well.
Highlighted Team (AS Roma):
AS Roma are a professional football club based in Rome. Roma were founded by a merger in 1927 and they play in the Italian Serie A. Roma’s fiercest rivals are Lazio and it has to be noted that both capital clubs play their home games at Stadio Olimpico. The two local rivals face each other in the Derby della Capitale, which is considered one of the most exciting derbies in the world of football. The Giallorossi (The Yellow and Reds) have won three Serie A titles (1941/1942, 1982/1983, 2000/2001), while winning nine Coppa Italia trophies. The colour of Roma’s shirts is imperial purple with a golden yellow trim. A number of top-class footballers were part of Roma in the past, but Francesco Totti is undisputedly the club’s biggest legend. “The Prince of Rome” made his 601 appearances for Roma on 14 May, 2016 when the Giallorossi recorded a 3-1 win over Milan at Stadio San Siro.
