Our football match prediction:
As expected, Chievo defeated rock-bottom Pescara in their last home fixture in the league, but they failed to spoil Milan’s party at Stadio San Siro in Saturday’s football match. Anyhow, the Mussi Volanti are on the right track to secure the Serie A survival and we predict that coach Rolando Maran will mix the squad in the remainder of the season. Chievo host Empoli at their Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi on Matchday 28 and seeing that the visitors are desperate to avoid relegation to Serie B, we are tempted to put our money on the underdogs. The Azzurri are eager to make amends for a 2-0 defeat to Genoa and they are likely to put an end to their four-game losing run in the national championship. Empoli are after their second away win of the season as they hammered Pescara (4-0) at Stadio Adriatico-Giovanni Cornacchia earlier in the process.
Highlighted Player (Valter Birsa):
After making just one appearance for Primorje in the 2003/2004 campaign, Valter Birsa joined Gorica at the age of 17. He impressed with the Slovenian outfit, scoring 26 goals in 61 league matches and, as a result, earned a lucrative move to Sochaux. The left-footed midfielder, who plays as a winger as well, did not score too many goals for the French outfit (8), but it has to be noted that he was sent on loan to Auxerre (in 2009) before his contract expired. Despite being on Liverpool’s radar, Birsa joined Genoa on 2 February 2011 and he made nine league appearances for the Rossoblu in the 2011/2012 Serie A campaign. After ending his loan spell with Torino in 2013 he joined Italian giants Milan, in what was a swap deal for Luca Antonini, who moved to Genoa. Valter Birsa has 12 caps for Slovenia U21 and he represented the Slovenian national team at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. He scored his first goal for Slovenia on 9 September, 2009 against Poland.
