Our football match prediction:
Crotone’s top-flight status will be at stake when they take on Lazio at their Stadio Ezio Scida on the last day of the season. The newcomers did well to beat Udinese in their last home fixture, but they were not capable of spoiling Juventus’ party in Turin at the weekend. Crotone are only one point behind 17th-placed Empoli, meaning that they face a must-win situation against the Biancocelesti. The hosts have no other choice but to go all guns blazing at the capital club and seeing that the visitors have little to play for in Sunday’s football match, we predict that the relegation-threatened team are going to pick up vital three points from the game. Lazio suffered a 3-1 loss to Inter at the weekend and the lack of motivation seems to be the biggest problem for Simone Inzaghi’s troops, who have already booked their place in the Europa League.
Highlighted Player (Alex Cordaz):
Alex Cordaz is an Italian goalkeeper who plays for Crotone, who returned to the Serie A at the end of the 2015/2016 season. Cordaz was born in Vittorio Veneto on 1 January 1983 and he started his youth career at Inter. He played one game for the Nerazzurri in the Serie A and in 2006 he joined Treviso. After making 18 league appearances for the club from 2006 to 2009, he joined with Swiss side Lugano on a free transfer. The 188-cm-tall goalkeeper played 56 league games for Lugano and in 2011 he returned to Italy as he signed a contract with Cittadella. As expected, he established himself as a first-choice goalkeeper and he made no less than 80 league appearances for the club between 2011 and 2013. Alex Cordaz currently plays for Crotone and it has to be noted that he made 42 appearances for the club in the 2015/2016 Serie B campaign.
Highlighted Team (Lazio Roma):
Lazio are an Italian football club based in Rome. Lazio were founded in 1900 and they compete in the Serie A. The Biancocelesti (The White and Sky Blues) have won two Serie A trophies (1973/1974, 1999/2000), while lifting six Coppa Italia titles. The capital club play their home games at Stadio Olimpico and Roma are regarded as Lazio’s main rivals. The two teams face each other in the Derby della Capitale and it is considered the fiercest inter-city derby in Italy. Lazio won UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1999, with the team beating Mallorca in the title game. The same year they managed to clinch the UEFA Super Cup trophy as they outplayed English giants Manchester United at Stade Louis II, Monaco. The likes of Pavel Nedved, Giuseppe Favalli, Juan Sebastian Veron, Sinisa Mihajlovic, Roberto Mancini, Giuseppe Signori, Miroslav Klose and Simone Inzaghi are notable footballers who played for Lazio in the past.
