Our prediction for this Serie A match:
After failing to score in eight league matches, Empoli did remarkably well to crush Pescara on day 12 of the new Serie A campaign. The Azzurri, though, should not stop now and they will certainly give 100% in order to grab something from Sunday’s football match against Fiorentina. Empoli failed to find the net in previous four home matches in the Italian top flight and they are eager to put an end to the negative trend. Fiorentina, on the other hand, dropped two points in a 1-1 draw with Sampdoria, but you should bear in mind that they are on a three-game winning run on the road in all competitions. The Viola aim to stay in the race for a place in European competitions and we predict that the visitors will stick to their attacking style of play. In their last meeting in Serie A Empoli emerged triumphant, meaning that the visitors are hungry for revenge.

The experienced attacker was born in Galliate on 6 September, 1979. It has to be noted that Maccarone won the English League Cup with Middlesbrough in the 2003/2004 season. He participated in the 2005/2006 UEFA Cup final with Boro as well, but Sevilla proved to be a big catch for the English side back then (0-4).
