Our match prediction:
Fiorentina and Roma face each other at Stadio Artemio Franchi in what is expected to be one of the most entertaining matches of Sunday’s program. The Viola head into the match following a goalless draw with PAOK in their Europa League opener and they aim to keep their third consecutive clean sheet in all competitions. Fiorentina were not into action at the weekend as their game against Genoa was postponed and, no doubt, Paulo Sousa’s men can’t wait for Sunday’s football match against Roma to begin. The Romans came from behind to beat Sampdoria at the weekend and thanks to the win they retained their position in top 3 in the Serie A standings. The Giallorossi need to keep on winning if they are to win Scudetto in the 2016/2017 season and they are likely to adopt an attack-minded approach in the clash against Fiorentina. The Viola are a real force to be reckoned with at home and we predict that both teams will find the net on Matchday 4.
Highligted Player (Tatarusanu):
Anton Ciprian Tatarusanu is one of Romania’s most famous goalkeeper at the moment, and he has surprisingly spent the majority of his career up to date in his native country. The highly rated shot-stopper joined the most famous club on domestic stage Steaua via Juventus Bucuresti and Gloria Bistrita and he would go on to spend next seven years in the capital, making over 130 league appearances and featuring in over 40 matches in European competitions. The big club move finally materialised in the summer of 2014 as he waited his contract to expire before signing for Fiorentina, and he quickly established himself as the number one goalkeeper at Artemio Franchi. When it comes to international stage, Tatarusanu has spent much of his career competing with Costel Pantilimon for the starting berth in the national team, and he has emerged a winner, making 30 odd appearances for the Tricolorii since 2010. Bar any surprises, Tatarusanu will make his debut appearance at major tournaments at the Euro 2016 finals.
Highlighted Team (AS Roma):
AS Roma are a professional football club based in Rome. Roma were founded by a merger in 1927 and they play in the Italian Serie A. Roma’s fiercest rivals are Lazio and it has to be noted that both capital clubs play their home games at Stadio Olimpico. The two local rivals face each other in the Derby della Capitale, which is considered one of the most exciting derbies in the world of football. The Giallorossi (The Yellow and Reds) have won three Serie A titles (1941/1942, 1982/1983, 2000/2001), while winning nine Coppa Italia trophies. The colour of Roma’s shirts is imperial purple with a golden yellow trim. A number of top-class footballers were part of Roma in the past, but Francesco Totti is undisputedly the club’s biggest legend. “The Prince of Rome” made his 601 appearances for Roma on 14 May, 2016 when the Giallorossi recorded a 3-1 win over Milan at Stadio San Siro.
