Our football match prediction:
Thanks to a 2-1 win over Lazio in the Derby della Capitale Roma extended their winning run in the Serie A to five games. The Giallorossi proved their worth in the local derby and, no doubt, they are brimming with confidence ahead of the trip to Genoa. The capital club aim to stay in the race for Scudetto, but Sunday’s football match against the Rossoblu will be anything but a walk in the park for them. Bosnian attacker Edin Dzeko failed to find the net in the 2-1 win over Lazio, but the Bosnian attacker is likely to lead the line for the Romans against Genoa. Davide Ballardini’s troops did well to beat Crotone on the road in their last league fixture, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry against Roma, who have been in a thrilling form in the national championship of late.
Highligted Player (Giovanni Simeone):
Giovanni Simeone is a product of River Plate football academy. Simeone played for los Millonarios at senior level from 2014 to 2016 and he moved to Genoa in the summer of 2016. The former River Plate man scored his first goal for the club in a 1-1 draw with Pescara on September 25, 2016 and two months later he scored a brace in a 3-1 victory over Serie A giants Juventus. The prolific attacker netted 12 goals in 35 matches for the Rossoblu in the 2016/2017 Serie A campaign and, as a result, Fiorentina chiefs decided to sign him at the end of the season. The son of Atletico Madrid boss Diego joined the Viola on a five-year contract. Giovanni was born in Madrid on July 5, 1995 and due to his dual citizenship, he is eligible to represent both Argentina and Spain at senior level. It has to be noted that he scored 12 goals in 12 appearances for the Argentina U20 team and he helped La Albiceleste win the 2015 South American Youth Football Championship.
Highlighted Team (AS Roma):
AS Roma are a professional football club based in Rome. Roma were founded by a merger in 1927 and they play in the Italian Serie A. Roma’s fiercest rivals are Lazio and it has to be noted that both capital clubs play their home games at Stadio Olimpico. The two local rivals face each other in the Derby della Capitale, which is considered one of the most exciting derbies in the world of football. The Giallorossi (The Yellow and Reds) have won three Serie A titles (1941/1942, 1982/1983, 2000/2001), while winning nine Coppa Italia trophies. The colour of Roma’s shirts is imperial purple with a golden yellow trim. A number of top-class footballers were part of Roma in the past, but Francesco Totti is undisputedly the club’s biggest legend. “The Prince of Rome” made his 601 appearances for Roma on 14 May, 2016 when the Giallorossi recorded a 3-1 win over Milan at Stadio San Siro.
