Our football match prediction:
Hellas Verona and Benevento square off against each other at Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi in the closing match of day 8 in the Serie A. The Mastini did not make a flying start to the season, but they showed character in a 2-2 draw against Torino at the weekend, with the team scoring two late goals to share the spoils with Sinisa Mihajlovic’s troops. Verona are eager to escape the relegation zone and we predict that they will fight tooth and nail in Monday’s football game against Benevento. The rock-bottom side have do not seem to be competitive at this level and the newcomers are unlikely to spoil Verona’s party in the “City of Love”. The two teams meet for the first time ever in the Italian top flight and, taking everything into account, there is a big value in betting on the hosts, who hungry to win.
Highlighted Player (Daniel Bessa):
Daniel Bessa is a Brazilian midfielder who was born in San Paulo on January 14, 1993. Bessa played for the likes of Coritiba and Atletico-PR during his youth career before joining Inter football school at the age of 15. The Brazilian footballer did not see any game action for the Nerazzurri in the Serie A as he played for the likes of Vicenza, Olhanense, Sparta Rotterdam, Bologna and Como on loan from 2013 to 2016. In the summer of 2016 he moved to Hellas Verona and you should know that he scored eight goals, while providing four assists for his teammates in 41 appearances for the club in the 2016/2017 Serie B campaign. At the end of the season the Mastini secured promotion to the Italian top flight, with the team finishing the process in second place in the standings, four points behind SPAL. Daniel Bessa is a central midfielder, but he is capable of playing as a right winger as well.
Highlighted Team (Benevento):
FC Benevento secured promotion to the Serie A for the first time in their history at the end of the 2016/2017 campaign, but it has to be noted that they finished the regular season in 5th place in the standings. The Stregoni (Witches) did well to beat Perugia and Carpi in the promotion play-offs and, as a result, they are going to taste a top-flight football. Benevento were founded in 1929 as Associazione Calcio Benevento and back then they played their home games at Meomartini, the venue which was built by Ciccio Minocchia. Nowadays, the Stregoni welcome their rivals at Stadio Giro Vigorito and the capacity of the stadium is 12.847. Benevento are well known for their yellow jerseys with red stripes, whilst they wear white shirts and white shorts when playing on the travels. After Napoli, Salernitana and Avellino Benevento become the fourth club from Campania to compete in the Serie A. Matches between the aforementioned teams are well known as Campania derbies.
