Our prediction for this Serie A match:
Juventus will host the 18th round of the Italian Serie A against Hellas Verona in Juventus stadium, Turin on Wednesday the 6th of January. Juventus is currently the best team in form of the Serie A winning the last 7 games in a row. After a very difficult start in the league Juventus managed to get to the 4th place on the table and has 3 points less than leader Inter Milan which gives the Old Lady a good perspective in getting back in to the title race. Hellas Verona on the other hand is placed rock bottom on the table and will have to fear to be relegated to the Serie B next season. We predict an easy victory for Allegri and his men. The team is showing to be highly motivated to win the title which would be a real stunt seeing how dramatically the team started of this season.
Highlighted Player (Patrice Evra):
After playing for the likes of CO Les Ulis, CSF Bretigny and PSG during his youth career, Patrice Evra started playing for Marsala at senior level. The left-footed full back played for Monza in the 1999/2000 campaign and he returned to France in 2000.
After making 40 league appearances for les Aiglons, he signed a contract with Monaco at the end of the 2005/2006 season. Evra played 120 league games for les Rouges et Blancs and on 3 January, 2006 he made probably the best decision of his career as he signed a deal with English giants Manchester United. The French footballer, who was born in Dakar, Senegal, clinched five Premier League trophies with the Red Devils, while winning the Champions League trophy in the 2007/2008 season.
After spending nine season at Old Trafford, Evra moved to Italy in 2014 as he signed a contract with Juventus. He won his second Scudetto with Juve in the 2015/2016 season and, speaking of his international career, he played in the Euro 2016 final with France against Portugal, but les Tricolores failed to win the prestigious trophy.
Highlighted Team (Juventus):
Juventus are considered one of the greatest European football clubs. The Bianconeri (The White and Blacks) have won two Champions League trophies (1985, 1996) and they did well to clinch three UEFA Cup titles (1977, 1990, 1993). The Italian giants have won 32 Serie A trophies and it is well known that a number of star players were part of Juve in the past.
The likes of Alessandro Del Piero, Zinedine Zidane, Michel Platini, Lilian Thuram, Filippo Inzaghi, Pavel Nedved and David Trezeguet all played for Juventus, whilst legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has yet to retire. Juve were stripped two domestic trophies during the “Calciopoli” scandal, but despite being relegated to Serie B, the club quickly brought glory days back to Turin. The Bianconeri used to play their home games at Stadio delle Alpi, but nowadays they welcome their rivals at Juventus Stadium.
The capacity of the stadium is 41,475. La Vechhia Signora (The Old Lady) is yet another nickname of the club. Juve’s biggest rivals are Torino and the two local rivals take on each other in the Turin derby.
