Our prediction for this Serie A match:
Juventus and Napoli face each other at Juventus Stadium in the Serie A derby. Both teams are eager to win Scudetto and, no doubt, there will be fireworks in Saturday’s football match in Turin. The Bianconeri managed to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to Milan, with the team rolling over Sampdoria (4-1) in midweek and a victory over Napoli would see the title holders cement top position in the Serie A standings. The Neapolitans recorded back-to-back wins over the likes of Crotone and Empoli in previous two league matches, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry against Juve. Gonzalo Higuain is eager to make life difficult for his former club, but seeing that Max Allegri’s men are a real force to be reckoned with at home, away win should not be considered. Juve are eyeing their 22nd consecutive win at home in the Serie A and we predict that the reigning champions will pick up all three points from Saturday’s derby.
Highlighted Player (Mario Mandzukic):
Mario Mandzukic is one of Croatia’s most famous footballers, who was born in Slavonski Brod on 21 May 1986. The striker arrived to Dinamo Zagreb in 2007 via Marsonia and NK Zagreb, and that was when his meteoric rise began. After proving his worth on domestic stage, Mandzukic secured a move to VFL Wolfsburg, with three years in Bundesliga proving enough to get a call from European powerhouses Bayern Munich. The experienced striker won back to back Bundesliga titles at Allianz Arena, scoring 33 goals in 54 league outings, before he was sold to Atletico Madrid. The Croatia hotshot had mixed success in Spanish La Liga and eventually decided to join Juventus, where he also failed to impress during his debut season, but scored some important goals as the Bianconeri won fifth straight league trophy. Mandzukic has been a member of the Croatia national team since 2007 and he represented the country at the Euro 2012, 2014 World Cup and Euro 2016 finals. Usually operating as a target man, the striker boasts a very good goalscoring record, but he does not always take his chances.
Highlighted Team (Napoli):
SSC Napoli is an Italian football club from the city of Naples which is playing currently in the Serie A. The club was founded officially in 1926 but the history from Napoli reaches back to 1904 with the club Naples Foot-Ball & Cricket Club that fused with Internazionale Napoli and was called FBC Internaples.
After 4 seasons the club changed its name to SSC Napoli (Societa Sportiva Calcio).
In the end of the eighties Napoli had the biggest success in the club history with the Argentinian legend Diego Maradona. Diego Maradona was able to win the league title twice, the national cup and the UEFA cup. The moment Maradona left the club Napoli got into big financial trouble.
In 2004 the local club was bankrupt. Despite the help of financial investors the club got regulated to the Serie C. After 6 years of playing in lower divisions Napoli managed to get back in the Serie A in season 2007/2008. Famous players that played for the club from Naples are: Maradona, Zola, Cavani, Blanc, Di Canio, Cannavaro.
