Our football match prediction:
Out-of-sorts Palermo will be aiming to put an end to their six-match losing run in the Serie A when they welcome Lazio at their Stadio Renzo Barbera on Sunday. The Rosanero have been slipping down the standings week by week and they are four points behind the “safe zone” ahead of the visit of Lazio. This has to go down as a must-win game for the hosts and we predict that the relegation strugglers will fight tooth and nail against the capital club. Lazio recorded a 3-1 win over Genoa in their last league match and it is more than obvious that Simone Inzaghi is doing a great job with the Stadio Olimpico outfit. The Biancocelesti are eyeing a place in the Champions League and we are positive that the visitors will go for a win in Sunday’s football match. Taking everything into account, fans should see a lively contest at Stadio Renzo Barbera.
Highligted Player (Hiljemark):
Oscar Hiljemark is a central midfielder who won the Under-21 European Championship with Sweden in 2015 and has also started to leave his mark on the senior national team. His talent was spotted early on as a number of Swedish sides battled for the player’s signature before he penned a professional contract with Elfsborg. Following some impressive performances in Swedish Allsvenskan, Hiljemark was purchased by PSV Eindhoven, where he somewhat struggled for playing time, but that did not stop Serie A side Palermo from offering him an escape route from Dutch Eredivisie. The central midfielder enjoyed a brilliant start to his career in Italy, scoring several important goals in the opening exchanges, and he was in turn linked with the likes of Southampton, West Ham, AC Milan and Napoli, among other clubs. While making several appearances for Blagult even before said success with the Under-21 side, Hiljemark only secured his place in the senior team after the aforementioned trophy, and he is tipped to prove a worthy successor to long-serving midfielder Kim Kallstrom.
Highlighted Team (Lazio Roma):
Lazio are an Italian football club based in Rome. Lazio were founded in 1900 and they compete in the Serie A. The Biancocelesti (The White and Sky Blues) have won two Serie A trophies (1973/1974, 1999/2000), while lifting six Coppa Italia titles. The capital club play their home games at Stadio Olimpico and Roma are regarded as Lazio’s main rivals. The two teams face each other in the Derby della Capitale and it is considered the fiercest inter-city derby in Italy. Lazio won UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1999, with the team beating Mallorca in the title game. The same year they managed to clinch the UEFA Super Cup trophy as they outplayed English giants Manchester United at Stade Louis II, Monaco. The likes of Pavel Nedved, Giuseppe Favalli, Juan Sebastian Veron, Sinisa Mihajlovic, Roberto Mancini, Giuseppe Signori, Miroslav Klose and Simone Inzaghi are notable footballers who played for Lazio in the past.
