Our football match prediction:
David faces Goliath at Stadio Adriatico-Giovanni Cornacchia. Pescara have slim chances of securing the Serie A survival and they are sitting at the rock bottom in the standings. The Delfini failed to make life difficult for title holders Juventus (0-2) at the weekend and with Roma next they are unlikely to put an end to their seven-game winless run in the Italian elite division. Pescara are low on confidence ahead of Monday’s football game and we predict that the Giallorossi will pick up all three points from the match. After recording four consecutive wins in the Serie A, the Romans played out a 1-1 draw with Atalanta at the weekend and, as a result, they are eight points behind league leaders Juve in the standings. The team’s new goal is to secure automatic qualification for the Champions League group stages, meaning that Monday’s game is of big importance for the capital club.
Highlighted Player (Fransesco Zampano):
Francesco Zampano is a product of Sampdoria’s youth school. The pacey full back, who is capable of playing as a midfielder as well, began his senior career at Entella, making 51 league appearances for the club between 2011 and 2013. At the end of the 2012/2013 campaign he moved to Verona, but he was immediately sent on loan to Juve Stabia. After playing 33 league games for the club in the 2013/2014 season, he signed a loan deal with Pescara. In July, 2015 Zampano signed a permanent deal with Pescara and it has to be noted that he made 38 league appearances for the club in the 2015/2016 Serie B campaign. The Italian footballer, who was born in Genoa on 30 September, 1993, has three caps for Italy U20, but he has yet to make his debut for the senior team. His contract with Pescara expires on 30 June, 2020.
Highlighted Team (AS Roma):
AS Roma are a professional football club based in Rome. Roma were founded by a merger in 1927 and they play in the Italian Serie A. Roma’s fiercest rivals are Lazio and it has to be noted that both capital clubs play their home games at Stadio Olimpico. The two local rivals face each other in the Derby della Capitale, which is considered one of the most exciting derbies in the world of football. The Giallorossi (The Yellow and Reds) have won three Serie A titles (1941/1942, 1982/1983, 2000/2001), while winning nine Coppa Italia trophies. The colour of Roma’s shirts is imperial purple with a golden yellow trim. A number of top-class footballers were part of Roma in the past, but Francesco Totti is undisputedly the club’s biggest legend. “The Prince of Rome” made his 601 appearances for Roma on 14 May, 2016 when the Giallorossi recorded a 3-1 win over Milan at Stadio San Siro.
