Our football match prediction:
Sampdoria and Roma face each other at Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris on Matchday 21. La Samp are on a seven-game winless run in all competitions, but their top-flight status is not in great danger. Marco Giampaolo’s men are 14 points clear of the relegation zone, but the team’s main goal is to finish the season in the top half of the standings. Sampdoria suffered a 1-0 loss to Atalanta at the weekend and it has to be noted that the hosts failed to score in previous three games in all competitions. On the other hand, Edin Dzeko helped Roma pick up all three points from Sunday’s football match against Cagliari, meaning that the Giallorossi are still one point behind league leaders Juventus in the Serie A table. This has to go down as yet another must-win game for the Romans and given Sampdoria’s poor form, we predict that the visitors will extend their winning run in the national championship.
Highligted Player (Angelo Palombo):
Angelo Palombo is an experienced footballer who started his career at Fiorentina. After making just ten appearances for the Viola in the 2001/2002 season, he moved to Sampdoria in the summer of 2002 and he has been playing for La Samp ever since. Angelo Palombo is a defensive midfielder and he is well known for his accurate passes and for his hard-working style of play. The Italian footballer was born in Ferentino on 25 September, 1981 and it has to be noted that he played 18 games for the Italy U21 team. He made 22 appearances for the senior team as well, playing for the Azzurri from 2006 to 2011. Palombo made his Italy debut in a 2-0 loss to Croatia on 16 August, 2016 and he represented the Italian national team at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. However, he did not see any game action at the 2010 World Cup finals. Angelo Palombo often donates money to charity.
Highlighted Team (AS Roma):
AS Roma are a professional football club based in Rome. Roma were founded by a merger in 1927 and they play in the Italian Serie A. Roma’s fiercest rivals are Lazio and it has to be noted that both capital clubs play their home games at Stadio Olimpico. The two local rivals face each other in the Derby della Capitale, which is considered one of the most exciting derbies in the world of football. The Giallorossi (The Yellow and Reds) have won three Serie A titles (1941/1942, 1982/1983, 2000/2001), while winning nine Coppa Italia trophies. The colour of Roma’s shirts is imperial purple with a golden yellow trim. A number of top-class footballers were part of Roma in the past, but Francesco Totti is undisputedly the club’s biggest legend. “The Prince of Rome” made his 601 appearances for Roma on 14 May, 2016 when the Giallorossi recorded a 3-1 win over Milan at Stadio San Siro.
