Our match prediction:
Torino have been impressive at the back ever since England goalkeeper Joe Hart joined the club. The new shoot-stopper managed to keep a clean sheet in previous three league games against Empoli and Pescara and, no doubt, Il Toro are going to rely on their rock-solid defence in Sunday’s football match against Roma. Torino are a real force to be reckoned with at home, but beating the Giallorossi is easier said than done. The capital club hammered Crotone 4-0 in midweek and seeing that a win over Torino could see the Romans climb to top position in the standings, there is every chance the visitors will adopt an attack-minded approach in the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino clash. Coach Luciano Spalletti can count on all of his key players for Sunday’s game against Torino and we predict that the visitors are going to pick up all three points from the match.
Highligted Player (Daniele Padelli):
Daniele Padelli is a professional footballer who played for the likes of Lecco and Como during his youth career. During his spell with Como, he caught the eye of Sampdoria scouts and went on to join the Serie A outfit in 2004. However, he did not see any game action during his spell at Stadio Luigi Ferraris. After spending several seasons on loan at Pizzighettone, Crotone, Liverpool, Pisa, Avellino and Bari he joined Udinese on 31 August, 2011. The Italian goalkeeper signed a loan deal with the Zebrette and he signed a permanent contract with the club on 27 August, 2012. However, it has to be noted that the 193-cm-tall shoot-stopper played no more than nine league games for Udinese between 2011 and 2013. On 29 May, 2013 he joined Torino on a free transfer and he has been playing for Juve’s local rivals ever since. Padelli made 35 appearances for Torino in the 2015/2016 Serie A campaign and he conceded 50 goals in the process, while keeping six clean sheets.
Highlighted Team (AS Roma):
AS Roma are a professional football club based in Rome. Roma were founded by a merger in 1927 and they play in the Italian Serie A. Roma’s fiercest rivals are Lazio and it has to be noted that both capital clubs play their home games at Stadio Olimpico. The two local rivals face each other in the Derby della Capitale, which is considered one of the most exciting derbies in the world of football. The Giallorossi (The Yellow and Reds) have won three Serie A titles (1941/1942, 1982/1983, 2000/2001), while winning nine Coppa Italia trophies. The colour of Roma’s shirts is imperial purple with a golden yellow trim. A number of top-class footballers were part of Roma in the past, but Francesco Totti is undisputedly the club’s biggest legend. “The Prince of Rome” made his 601 appearances for Roma on 14 May, 2016 when the Giallorossi recorded a 3-1 win over Milan at Stadio San Siro.
