Our football match prediction:
Roma are determined to put an end to Juventus’ dominance in the Italian Serie A. The Romans leave their hearts on the field in every single match in the national championship, but they are seven points behind Max Allegri’s team in the standings ahead of Matchday 20. The capital club recorded a hard-fought win over Genoa at the weekend and thanks to the victory the Giallorossi cemented second place in the Serie A table. Edin Dzeko and Co. do not want to stop now and they are likely to go for a win in Sunday’s football match against the Zebrette. Udinese are one of those unpredictable teams in the Italian top flight. Luigi Delneri’s charges have been having their ups and downs in the league this term and following four consecutive matches without a loss they were beaten by Inter at the weekend. The Zebrette obviously struggle in matches against top-table sides and we predict that the Giallorossi will emerge triumphant in Sunday’s showdown.
Highlighted Player (Silvan Widmer):
Silvan Widmer was born in Aarau, Switzerland on 5 March, 1993 and, as expected, he began his senior career at his home-town club Aarau. He made nine appearances for the reserve team in the 2010/2011 campaign and he played for the first team between 2011 and 2013, scoring 11 goals in 65 league appearances for the club. The pacey right back, who is capable of playing as a right midfielder and a left back, signed a deal with Udinese in the summer of 2012, but he remained at Aarau until 2013. Silvan Widmer has 15 caps for Switzerland U21 team and he played for the U 19 side in the past as well, scoring three goals in eight appearances for the team. He made his debut for the senior team on 31 March, 2015, in a 1-1 draw with USA in Zurich. Widmer came as a substitute to replace fellow Serie A footballer Lichtsteiner after 46 minutes. His contract with Udinese expires on 30 June, 2020.
Highlighted Team (AS Roma):
AS Roma are a professional football club based in Rome. Roma were founded by a merger in 1927 and they play in the Italian Serie A. Roma’s fiercest rivals are Lazio and it has to be noted that both capital clubs play their home games at Stadio Olimpico. The two local rivals face each other in the Derby della Capitale, which is considered one of the most exciting derbies in the world of football. The Giallorossi (The Yellow and Reds) have won three Serie A titles (1941/1942, 1982/1983, 2000/2001), while winning nine Coppa Italia trophies. The colour of Roma’s shirts is imperial purple with a golden yellow trim. A number of top-class footballers were part of Roma in the past, but Francesco Totti is undisputedly the club’s biggest legend. “The Prince of Rome” made his 601 appearances for Roma on 14 May, 2016 when the Giallorossi recorded a 3-1 win over Milan at Stadio San Siro.
