Our prediction for this Serie A match:
Udinese and Pescara face each other at Dacia Arena in Udine on day nine of the 2016/2017 Serie A campaign. The Zebrette have been playing below expectations in the Italian top flight this season and they are on a three-match losing run in the national championship ahead of the visit of Pescara. Udinese, though, produced a promising display in a 2-1 defeat to Juventus at the weekend and that is giving home fans a reason for optimism ahead of Sunday’s football match. The Dolphins failed to emerge triumphant in previous six league fixtures and they are unlikely to spoil Udinese’s party at Dacia Arena. The Zebrette are a real force to be reckoned with at home and we believe that the time has come for Luigi Delneri’s team to return to winning ways in the Serie A. Former Napoli attacker Duvan Zapata has netted two goals in the league this term and he is certainly eager to add more goals to his account.
Highlighted Player (Silvan Widmer):
Silvan Widmer was born in Aarau, Switzerland on 5 March, 1993 and, as expected, he began his senior career at his home-town club Aarau. He made nine appearances for the reserve team in the 2010/2011 campaign and he played for the first team between 2011 and 2013, scoring 11 goals in 65 league appearances for the club. The pacey right back, who is capable of playing as a right midfielder and a left back, signed a deal with Udinese in the summer of 2012, but he remained at Aarau until 2013. Silvan Widmer has 15 caps for Switzerland U21 team and he played for the U 19 side in the past as well, scoring three goals in eight appearances for the team. He made his debut for the senior team on 31 March, 2015, in a 1-1 draw with USA in Zurich. Widmer came as a substitute to replace fellow Serie A footballer Lichtsteiner after 46 minutes. His contract with Udinese expires on 30 June, 2020.
Highlighted Team (Pescara):
Pescara are an Italian football club that play in the Serie A. The Delfini (The Dolphins) returned to the Italian top flight at the end of the 2015/2016 season and it has to be noted that they competed in six seasons in the elite division (1977–78, 1979–80, 1987–88, 1988–89, 1992–93, 2012–13). Pescara play their home matches at Stadio Adriatico, the stadium that was opened in 1955 and renovated in 2009. The club’s main rivals are Lazio and Verona, but the likes of Chieti, Virtus and L’Aquila are considered Pescara’s bitter rivals as well. Vicenza and Messina are regarded as Gemellaggi (Twinning) with Pescara. Delfini have yet to win the Serie A trophy, but it has to be noted that they won the Serie B twice (1986/1987, 2011/2012). The colour of Pescara’s home kit is white and blue, while the team’s away kit is dark blue.
