Our match prediction:
Having crushed Schalke in the Europa League last 32, Shakhtar Donetsk will be looking to move one step closer to winning the European trophy by beating Anderlecht at L’viv Arena. The Miners are on a three-game winning run ahead of Thursday’s Europa League clash and it has to be noted that they scored 10 goals in previous three matches in all competitions. Mircea Lucescu’s men have yet to return to their Donbass Arena, but they certainly capable of beating the Belgian side at L’viv Arena. Anderlecht, on the other hand, eliminated Olympiakos in previous round, with the team shocking the Greek outfit in Piraeus in extra time. Nonetheless, Shakhtar are likely to pose a much bigger threat for the visitors than their previous rivals and we do not believe the visitors are capable of grabbing something from Thursday’s game. Taking everything into account, we predict that the Ukrainians will take the lead in the first leg.
